Great lantern! Well-made and tough. I use with Panasonic rechargeable Eneloop AA batteries paired with Panasonic battery adapters that allow you to use AA batteries instead of D cells. Rechargeable batteries are much less likely to leak versus alkaline. Even if you run into a leaky alkaline battery the terminals are easy to clean up with a Q-tip and a little vinegar to neutralize the base alkaline discharge followed up with some rubbing alcohol. Everything works great and light output beats the old Coleman battery powered lanterns. This is a buy it for life camping lantern. I also recommend the 30-day Duro for which I have a similar set-up. The base is really not that hard to screw-on. Read the instructions!

My highest recommendation, good light with the three options and ladts as advertised. It’s not small, which you could surmise by the 6 D cell batteries compartment. I had no issue with the battery compartment cover installation, just aligned the red arrows and took my time. Buy one. Buy TWO. These are great.

The 60 Day Duro lantern is just what I was looking for. I don’t want to be scrambling to load batteries during an emergency. The fact that it is supposed to last for 60 hours between charges on medium setting was the primary selling point for me. However, be WARNED ahead of time that the battery lid is extremely difficult to close. Whoever designed the battery lid did not design it for older people. I loaded the 6 batteries and FINALLY got the battery lid to close after numerous tries. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this purchase

Fabulous. Very bright light. Used it a half dozen times for short term needs. Still good strong battery. Guess I will charge it in a couple months if this keeps up
