Excellent housing but you need to order the mounting bracket and filter wrench separately.

I've had 2 for 5-6 years and added this one for a third. I use a 1 micron, a charcoal and a 0.35 micron in my whole house system and my water test on city water goes from over 400ppm to around 120ppm. Bought this to replace another brand that the housing cap cracked on in less than 3 months. My only complaint is actually a tip on installation. Put plenty of the provided grease on the o-ring or they can be very hard to remove the housings to change the filters.

This is very thick and sturdy compared to other big blue housing I've used. I think Pentair made the original big blue filter housing.

Filter housing is study and robust. Large but manageable. Insure you get bracket with it because it is heavy when full. Only reason not 5 stars, fittings used have to be really taped and doped to seal. A loose fit with out. Other than that, good product so far. Also you will need screws for the bracket/filter housing. I hope to get twice the life out of filters with upsizing filter size and housing.

I'm on well water and this was a must have. I made the connection using pex but copper/pvc wouldn't be hard either. I would recommend installing as close to the supply point as possible so you can avoid sediment reaching water heaters or any other appliances/faucets. I'd also recommend shut off valves close to the inlet and outlet for filter changes. The only issue I have was a little water leaking around the threads when I first installed. Took it back apart and used Teflon impregnated pipe dope. No more leaks after that. Haven't had any problems other than the minor leak.

The product arrived in a timely fashion and was packaged very well.The product was exactly as advertised.The 20 filter on the whole-house system was getting clogged with clay sediment rather quickly.At first I was replacing the element as needed but, at $65 each, it was getting costly.I didn't have the time to re-plumb the system with an integral backwash feature so I purchased this filter housing, and rigged it up in reverse with a garden hose spigot. I remove the clogged filter element, put it into the external housing and the garden hose flow washes it from the inside-out.It works rather well and will save money in the long run.

The Pentek 5x20 filter was installed for the whole house. The filter is part of a water treatment system and functions as we needed with a 25/1 filter element.

It's big, and seals well. I had to upgrade to the larger housing after not being able to find the thinner cartridges I used before. I was hoping I wouldn't end up having a marked decrease in water presure, and haven't experienced any drop so far. It seems to be the same as before. The cartridges seem to have more of a 'pre-filter' section that the thinner cartridges lacked. I'm hoping that they last longer.Great housing, easy to mount, works perfectly.

Installed two of these in conjunction with Fleck water softener to upgrade my residential water system. Good leak tight performance. Excellent filtration performance using Pentair 1 and 5 micron filters.
