My experience is that you normally wrap teflon tape around threads 2-3 times to ensure a leak free connection in plumbing. I tried that with this filter and it leaked a lot at both of the pipe connections. I wound up putting over 10 wraps of teflon tape around the threads and now it only has a very slight leak on one side. The leak at the other side stopped. These plastic threads have some significant problem because I can't get a water tight seal at the pipe connection. I can't tighten it any more because the fittings are screwed all the way in to the filter. Maybe I'm supposed to use 20 wraps of teflon tape? Also, the holes at the top to mount it in the optional bracket are not threaded, so I had to thread those holes to accept the bolts that mount it to the optional bracket. Good thing I had a tap and die set. It does filter the water though, so I'll give it 3 stars. You just have to leave a bucket under it to catch the drips.
