The easy-to-install NS-IW480C ceiling speakers work great in home theater applications or anywhere great sounding speakers are desired.
SoundMax, Yamaha's unique crossover network technique uses dual tweeters to maximize sound dispersion with focusing stereo imaging. It is designed to have a slightly different high-pass crossover network point for dual tweeters to be able to maximize their sound coverage while minimizing mutual interference of high frequency band-width and preventing the degradation of stereo image as known as "combing effect".
You can swivel the tweeter of the NS-IW480C to aim high frequency sound toward the main listening area. To do this, simply press on the edge of the tweeters and set the position.

Received them quickly. They were bigger than I imagined them when I first ordered. These need 6 inch depth to fit, so wall mounting with 2x4 stick walls is not a good fit. I have to make 2 inch wall box frames to make them fit, but not a big deal. They sound good and I'm very satisfied and would recommend for the money. I paid $90 for the pair and bought 2 sets. They were easy to install, just follow the directions to not over tighten. They fit flush with the ceiling and look good.

Must have for a surround sound system. They fit right in place, looks nice and does the job. Simple and easy, just the way I like it. I just received it a few days ago but, I have nothing but good things to say and I hope you will too.

Such a clear, crisp sound from these 3-way speakers. They hit the full range in the high registers. Add a woofer and you have a great sound package.

Yamaha NS-IW280CWH 6.534; 3-Way In-Ceiling Speaker System (White, Pair) I planned to use these as stand alone speakers in my kitchen. They completely lack any bass or lower mid range. I had them connected to an older Yamaha receiver with an adjustable loudness control and unless I turned the loudness to a level that gave a completely unnatural sound there wasn't even lower midrange. I wasn't expecting these to crank out bass, just give a fairly full sound. No dice. They sounded great in the high and upper mid-range. They'd probably work great as rear surrounds or with a sub. On their own they are a non-starter. I was especially surprised because I have a pair of outdoor Yamaha speakers that appear to be exactly the same components and they sound surprisingly good.
