Replaced a 36E52-204 value from 1999-2000 build date with this 36J24-214. The valve has been working great for about 10 weeks now. I have a second heater from the same 1999-2000 era and was about to do some preventative maintenance and replace its valve also. But decided if it ain't broke, don't fix it. This is a great valve for the money. There are cheaper generic valves but why risk blowing up your house to save $20. White-Rodgers is 'the company' for small gas valves.

This works perfectly, however it is about 3/4 bigger then the OEM version just beware you will need a new nipple.
