I've tried several brands of these small bit-holding ratchets. This is one of the better ones I've used. Holds the bit well on both ends. The ratchet mechanism is retained using a wire retaining clip. This is a key difference between it and the similarly styled Gearwrench bit ratchet, which is retained by a pressed-on thumbwheel. At work, we all have the little Gearwrench microdriver set, which is a great value for the price. But bad tools don't last long where I work and we defeat those Gearwrench ratchets in short order. We've all replaced the ratchet in that set with the Vim HBR5 ratchet, which holds up a lot better. Take that for what it's worth. If you use your tools a lot in tough situations, this one is worth considering.
