This is my first pair of gloves that I bought exclusively for heavy-bag use. I opted for quality over price, and I'm glad that I did. As other reviews mention, these have a metal wrap clasp for the velcro, so I don't expect they can be used for sparring. Since I never spar, I have to say that the comfort of these gloves increases over time.

These gloves are intended for heavy bag work - NOT boxing or sparring. They are indeed heavy. I worked out again with them yesterday and found that your hands do indeed sweat quite a bit in the gloves and there is no place for it to go (no circulating air). The gloves have a tendency to make you roll punches, so be aware of that or you will get a wrist stinger for a reward. Great overall protection in power punching though. I have destroyed my hands boxing and fighting as a result of my youth 40 years ago. These provide very good protection for damaged hands. Worth the money I would say if they hold up over time.

Had them for a year while training almost daily. Never had any kind of micro-injury or discomfort, unlike 3-4 different pairs of gloves I tried before those. Probably ideal for beginners and/or heavy hitters on the heavy bag to avoid injuries. From my experience though, the cost of safety they provide is the feeling that your punches you land stay on the bag for splits of seconds, and possibly not have an immediate reset back to defense.
