The opening for the nut is slightly oversized, causing some rounding of the edges of the nut.

The wrench will tighten down a barrel nut to 52 ft.lb.on an AR rifle. However the I.D. of the wrench actually measures 1.20034; so I'm not sure how much pressure you could put on a regular nut before it slipped.

Purchased this item to work on a 1 3/16 barrel nut. Wrench is marked 1 3/16. It fits loosely on the barrel nut. Probably good enough to install the nut but not close enough for heavy use. Checked the wrench with a micrometer. Keep in mind that 1 3/16 is 1.1875 inches. Wrench measures 1.204 inches. .0165 oversize isn't even close to reasonable tolerance. A check of other wrenches (Older USA made Craftsman and some from Taiwan) in my tool box showed them to average .01 oversize. Edited on 11/7 to fix math error

Needed this to tighten a barrel nut on a project I was doing luckily I can use this in my job. Open end of wench was a bit uneven but not really noticeable. It does the job.

It's ok. Finish and forging/machining aren't great quality, but for the price, I wasn't expecting it to be. I just wanted something cheap and serviceable to install barrel nuts on AR pattern rifles. This fits the bill and the item was much, much cheaper than buying locally or buying a name brand. So it fits my needs.

The finish is high polish chrome and the dimension is a close tolerance. Don't know how it would hold up under high torque as my application was 40 foot pounds. For the money an application I needed it did the job.
