Does what it's supposed to and keeps the water out. Sleeve length fits like they're regular size and could use two or three more inches. The sleeves are notably shorter than other Columbia jackets I have in the same size and wouldn't recommend if you have average length or longer arms

So, I live in the Seattle area and needed to walk more for my health. Having said that, it rains in Seattle a lot in the winter. I didn't want to use an umbrella and determined the best route was a waterproof rain jacket. We've all had rain jackets before that work great, until it really starts raining. I came across this Columbia "Watertight" jacket and decided to give it a try. After wearing it almost every day for a month in the rain, I can tell you I come back from my walk dry on the inside every time. If you are looking for something that actually keeps you dry - this is worthy of a look.

Light weight, high quality, great fit. Couldn’t pass up on sale for 40 off but even at regular cost it’s worth it.

Colombia Watertight II Rain Jacket - Men’s XL, Graphite I’m 6’1”, 185-205 lbs. depending on the season, wear 17x35 shirts. This rain jacket is replacing a decade old Marmot Membrain whose internal laminate lining is flaking off leaving large to dandruff sized bits clinging to my skin amp; clothing. It’s ok for what it is, but I feel the Colombia is overpriced at $70 because decontenting has hit the rain jacket market big time. Comparing the Colombia Watertight II to my Marmot Membrain, the general fit is about the same with plenty of room for layering if needed for winter. Sleeve length is about the same, body length of the Colombia about 1/2” shorter. The hood is a generous size; adjustable around face with room for hat but not helmet. Colombia material is slightly noisier/crinklier/stiffer than the Marmot. Not a big difference in thickness. Here’s where the Colombia needs improvement: - No pit zips for hiking/exertion - No two-way main zipper (not found on any brand that I searched) - Thin, weak main front zipper w/small zipper pulls - Cheap, thin zipper pull extensions made of cord - No collar therefore no stowable hood - No rear hood adjustment strap for overhang - Thin hood brim - Mesh lining catches/snags - Only two good sized zippered side pockets with none on the inside, sleeve, or chest - Cheap hood cord stoppers vs. barrel cord stoppers - Only four Velcro strips on storm flap - I don’t care if it packs into its own pocket with an extra zipper pull Unknown: - Waterproof - cannot comment yet - Windproof - cannot comment yet - Breathability - cannot comment yet

The Columbia Watertight II Rain Jacket is a top-tier choice for staying dry in wet conditions. It’s lightweight, breathable, and truly waterproof, with an adjustable hood and cuffs for a custom fit. The sleek design makes it easy to layer over clothes, and it packs down small for convenient storage. I’d love to try more outdoor gear from this vendorexceptional quality and performance for all kinds of weather!

Got it for a long trip and big enough to wear over a warm, not waterproof, jacket. Fits well.

6'1" male, 31" waist, long torso but normal length arms. I typically have to wear t-shirts in size large and tailor them in because they're too baggy, because otherwise the t-shirts aren't long enough. I have the same problem with jackets; they're always too short. Luckily this rain jacket is sufficiently long for me without the arms being too long! I got a Small and the fit is very good. There's room to move around no problem. I wish that it were slightly more tailored (instead of a sad rectangle), but if you cinch the cord at the bottom, it makes it a tad more flattering. This would be a five star jacket (and I'd buy it in multiple colors), if not for two problems. First, velcro flap that covers the zipper cheapens the look of the jacket and is just kind of ugly. A non-flap design with just a waterproof zipper would look SO MUCH better. Second, while I love the two side pockets for hands, the jacket could really use more pockets. A small interior chest pocket. A phone pocket in the interior back of the jacket would be great. Currently, the only pockets are filled by hands, so the jacket basically has no pocket space for other things. Material is not quiet. It's not terribly loud, but not quiet. If you're annoyed by "swish, swish, swish" sounds as you walk, this isn't for you. If I were walking in nature without headphones, I think this material would be annoying to listen to. Not sure if there are other rain jackets that are quieter. Warmth: Extremely limited testing, but it doesn't seem like the sweatbox that some waterproof materials can be. It's like having a medium thickness long sleeve shirt on, but not a sweater. If you're in a hot climate, this would likely get hot fast. If you're in a cold climate, you would need to layer beneath it to stay warm. Value: With a decent sale, this is a decent value. keywords: short, long, noisy, sleeve, length, sound, loud

Perfect jacket for waterproof layering over other wear. I ordered one-size larger for wearing over a fleece jacket in cool fall weather.

When it arrived, I tried it on in the post office. It's a PLASTIC coat. And, it was too big. Definitely not worth the $80.00 I paid.

I am very pleased with this Columbia jacket. It is waterproof and keeps the wind out. When indoors it does not trap heat, and I stay comfortable wearing it.
