I’m sorry. As much as I support Garmin on other products they have failed me yet again with a failed HRM. I have gone through this “pro” in less than 4 months. Yes! I followed their washing and care instructions and yet now get no reading on it bike computer and zwift. Both BT and ANT fail to report a HR. I decided to give this Pro a try after their previous three devices failed with in 1 year of use. Needless to say I have lots of straps and no HRM working. I’m going to a competitors product. I’m still a Garmin bike computer and other device supporter but these HRM just don’t hold up.

It seems like a good solid product and does work well. You just have to use a third-party app for some reason. The app they have does not have live heart rate tracking, which is the main reason I bought this item. You would think that would be one of the most wanted uses of this product. Also it seems like it would be a simple thing to add this feature to their own app.

I had a chest strap from the other big name brand previously and this is superior in every way, at least if you have a Garmin watch. The strap paired instantly with the connect app and with my Forerunner 265. When I start a run, the chest strap is detected very quickly - much more quickly than the other brand. So far, it has been glitch free. The extra metrics you get with the strap in Garmin connect are pretty cool too. The strap is definitley more comfortable than the other brand and seems to have a little bit more room for larger runners as well.

Just after the warranty expired, this device started giving me false readings. Without wearing the strap it will read a "random pulse". I took care of the strap as recommended on the manual, rinsing it daily, after every workout and, giving it a thorough clean once a week. I used it for bike riding and tennis only. No Swimming. Changed batteries every three months.
