I had to modify slightly for my application based on my breaker location. Even though I would be the only one using the generator, I feel safer with this installed just in case anyone else had to go to the breaker box. And it keeps me from forgetting a step.

These work great, i have used them to add generator interconnects to multiple panels. you have to install in the upper left position on CH panels BUT the price has come down and is a good valve. a must if you don't want to kill linemen and backfeed the neighborhood with your home generator. (also a code requirement)

This product does exactly what it was purchase for. I did however have someProblems with installing this. The instructions were clear. I followed them as directed but upon marking and drilling the holes i inadvertently was slightly off canter with the holes that needed to be drilled. I was then forced to enlarge the holes to get piece to slide properly. But this did not stop the issue i had as the 2 pole 30amp breaker was slightly larger (1/32”) than the 15 and 20 amp breakers that were in there. This prevented me from sliding the interlock up and down. Once again i had to make an adjustment and had to grind off about 1/16” to aid in sliding the interlock. And although it now works it is not as smooth as it should be. I would recommend using a center punch when marking the holes for mounting that would have prevented the drill bit from sliding over the small amount it did. This it would have eliminated all my issues.

If you have a portable generator this allows you to safely connect it to the power panel in the home. It will not allow the main breaker and generator breaker to be closed at the same time. If you do not understand this, hire an electrician to install!!

Very easy to install. $40 for about $10 of material. Other interlocks even more expensive. I guess you pay for convenience. Delivered fast. Only reason for purchase is to make the panel legal.

It's what it says it is. Fits, and works perfect. Good directions. Anyone who who gave this a bad review for not being lab tested or whatever is never going to be satisfied with anything. It's a chunk of metal to idiot-proof yourself. What more is there?
