Switch Pro controllers have digital input for the four shoulder buttons, this swap basically eliminates any travel for said buttons. The click feedback is a welcome touch (and this is coming from somebody who hates "blue" switch keyboards). So, what's the caveat? Well, it's more of a durability concern. The rubber stoppers you have to insert into the shoulder buttons so that they can make good contact don't last. You'll get about 1 year of regular use before the start to fray and fall apart. Fortunately, eXtremeRate gives you 4 pairs, so you can replace them when they fail (but this also requires you completely disassembling the controller again). There was one instance where one of the shoulder buttons (ZL, I think) was just permanently stuck, right out of the box, but I'll chalk that up to being a fluke as I've purchased seven sets of these and that was the only one with an issue. My only recommendation is to use a harder insert like the kind you find on automotive hoses. I actually ended up cutting up an old hose to make new inserts. They should last MUCH longer than the OEM ones. Overall, highly recommended!

Just to let you know, you don't even need to take the old ribbon assembly off. You can place this directly over the original ribbon, as these are paper thin. I don't suggest using the adhesive if doing it this way though, as it will probably muck up the original contacts sitting below the new ribbon doing it this way. I purposely did this because I wanted to test the feel of the clicky kit with minimal invasion/compromise to the physical controller itself, and wanted to be able to easily switch it back if not satisfied. Even without the adhesive in play, the little white 'stoppers' actually hold down the ribbon assembly just fine when you get it into place. There are holes/guides that everything sits in while assembling...yes, it's a bit fussy, but totally do-able this way. The original ribbon/data plug-in (the part that you have to disconnect and reconnect) can just hang out of the way, and you plug in the new one. I suggest positioning the kit, then placing the white bumper-fitted triggers directly over the buttons to hold them into place. It was very secure after re-assembly, and I never felt they would come off/out. One slight problem (and this personal preference); I didn't like the drastically reduced travel of the triggers (Z buttons). I like just a bit of 'give' to the triggers, but that's just a personal thing. It would be awesome to have this kit just for the bumpers, and leave the trigger contacts alone and use the membrane mechanism for those. The bumpers felt like a dream, and this is how it should have felt from the beginning. It's a crisp, defined click, similar to an xbox bumper feel; not a loud click, but a confident click. I can’t speak for the longevity of the product, as I gamed with it for a few days. No problems whatsoever, except for the way the Z buttons felt.
