Definitely a cheap sub but that’s why it’s less than $30. After I first installed it, I thought it was blown right out of the box but I realized one of the terminals wasn’t even soldered to the voice coil wire so after I fixed that, it was better sounding than I expected but still very unimpressive. I have it installed behind my driver seat in an old bass tube I had laying around on a 250 W max amp into both voice coils and it seems to be handling it for the past couple weeks. There’s no way this thing handles 800 W though. Maybe for a few seconds it would. Not terrible for the price but you definitely get what you pay for.

I’ve owned lots of very expensive very powerful subs. This one for being so cheap. Is alright. You want good bass without being broke and buying powerful amps it works great, around 200 watts is where it’s comfortable. More than that you’ll probably start to warm it up fast.

Well as one reviewer mentioned, this speaker is to deep for the stock box in the LS 2002 Suburban. I modified it by adding a 1/2" piece of wood and mounting the speaker on that. The panel barely was able to close. Sound on the speakers was great compared to my old stock speaker. They really put out some bass. I wired it to 2ohm and using the stock amp which is crap but even so the speakers sound good. The amp is pushing this speaker and cerwin vega components in the front. Still to do are my back door speakers. 4 stars for the plastic cage. I cracked one of the mounting holes on the speaker because I torqued to hard, was gentle on the rest and it was fine. Did the usual sound deading tape and panels on the inside of the box. Hope this helps someone.

These obviously aren’t 2000watt subwoofers. That being said they work perfectly fine and sound good. I bought a pair to run with my home theater system and have had zero issues. I’ve been giving them 150watts rms a piece and they have no distortion. Really filled out the 15-40hz range. I’m happy with the purchase. Great in-home subwoofers

All around rocking sub. Have had it for 3 months now and it just stopped working. After troubleshooting the speaker itself, seems that the tensile lead has lost connection to the spring loaded terminals. Looks like the solder connection has come loose. Would still recommend this Pyle any day.

The Pyle Car Subwoofer Speaker does what it needs to do. I run continuous 4ohm one terminal a little over 220w without any smoke or burning smell. The sound quality is pretty good. I don’t really care for the plastic basket, but it hasn’t affected the sound at all. I would recommend this speaker to anyone on a budget.

Headline is both good and bad. For $35 it's a decent basic replacement, and being dual coil is what I needed. Using a small 40wpc amp (the T20 one here on amaz) is decent at low levels, but quickly gets punchy and distorted as volume increases. It's also pretty light, about 1/2 the weight as the speaker it replaced. It also was a little too large for the hole in the box, which needed to be shaved a bit larger for the speaker to seat properly. For me it was a decent solution in the price range I wanted.UPDATE: After using this over 4 months now, I added a star -- it breaks in nicely and is much less distorted now (only at high volume).

Pretty good sound and bass for the money. Replaced the blown factory sub that came with my truck. A little tight fit in the factory sub box, but worked. Would definitely buy again.

I've been using this speaker for a week now definitely improved sound quality of my system and hasn't blown. It's hooked up to a kicker 400.1 mono block Amp. Tough little speaker

First and foremost, you lose all ability to complain about the quality of these subs simply based on the value / quality ratio. These units definitely meet and IMO surpass my expectations for an entry level sub straight out of the box. If you want to complain about the pricing then it's time to stop being so dam cheap and get yourself some mid level alpnies, kicker comps or dare I say it....Focals . If you do some research on general specifications for both amps and subs then by golly gee wow you may come to find out that ohms, voice coil sizes and types as well as a few others make a bigger difference than getting a 15in or 12in subwoofer that can't even be pushed by your 1,000,000,000 watt amp that you just spent $500 on while my dual/tripple 8in enclosure and 500-750w amp that I got open box for $75 is bumping the rocky theme song because its punching you in the chest with super tight and crisp jabs so hard that we turn down the radio together and scream ANDRIE......MAZON. My point is I have some really great sub builds for my vehicle and I would honestly recommend these subs for a solid clean and bassy sound when you pair the system correctly (amplifier and enclosure, deadening material is really something you won't regret) that is a quarter if not less than subs of similar quality with a really expensive trademarked name. From what I've seen it looks like more folks are worried about the name on their systems than the actual quality of sound, makes me want to pee in their lemonades and tell them its Splenda. The butyl rubber (or material they use, may be a different type because it almost feels superior, don't believe everything you read from the sellers, they can't even answer customer questions correctly 9/10 and sadly neither can the customers) seems solid enough, I've pounded these things like a teen couple on prom night who waited since softmore year because she took a celebacy pact with her best friend that you sometimes wish would slip and fall into a wood chipper....the first time I was able and was surprised at the lack of distortion even when the cones were pretty much extended to the max and and the coax hookups seemed tight, conducting well and overall really weren't as poor quality as I was almost sure they would be. This review is for the 10in models and possibly a new psychiatrist, i purchased one like new at $32 and the other for $44 I believe, sorry for all the info but I hope it made you smile and gave the info you needed.

Stock amp install. The system likes 2 ohm so they are wired as such. Sounded great for a couple days and then one of them developed a pop/flap sound at a certain bass frequency. It doesn't do it all the time, but some songs hit that note just right and pop/flap there it is...haha! Can't return, I'll probably replace the fronts with something else eventually. For now they sound better then the old stock units it had. I'm happy till I'm not.Good Luck!

had a subwoofer blow out on one of my mounted stereo speakers- I didn't want to spend too much considering the set of speakers cost me $10. I bought two of these subwoofers from Pyle for about $40-50 and one came broken- the cone was completely stuck at its topmost position and wouldn't depress at all. the other- which you can see pictured- works perfectly fine and looks beautiful. the speaker cage is plastic which was a first for me but it works and sounds great! just don't tighten the speakers down too hard I could imagine it cracking the cages plastic as it's pretty flimsy.
