Purchased a Pyle 8 inch bass tube a couple months ago and the speaker in it blew like I figured it would so I knew I would have to replace it anyway. So I decided if I got another Pyle speaker I would be good to go. Sadly it seems I traded one problem for another. It didnt even remotely fit in the tube without cutting out another inch in diameter and it stuck out so far I wouldnt have been able to put a grill on it. Secondly its way too much plastic. It feels like its made of Lego plastic. I did connect it to 150 rms and it held up well though it lacked the crisp sound you would get from a paper cone.Bottom line is its fine for the price point and is better than factory but thats about it imo

It sounded ehh on a 600 watt amp put it on a 1200 watt amp and smoked it, I had to pull over and rip it out smoke was rolling out the vent, even after i took it out of the box the magnet was still so hot you could cook an egg on it.

I bought the 12 inch version. I have been a speaker enthusiast for past 35 years. Can't stress this enough. Go by RMS wattage. Not max. In my truck I have 2 pioneer 12 500 watt max each. The most power I would push is 400 to each. It isn't how loud it's quality bass

Let's just start this review out with the acknowledgement that at $40 I knew exactly what I was buying. Pyle of today is not the Pyle Industries of Indiana USA I knew in the 1980s, ‘course a dual-wound 10” polypropylene woofer ‘Pyle Driver' actually cost MORE than this latest one in the '80s.Let's start with the pros and then lead to the cons.Pros1. Very inexpensive.2. Visually looks decent.3. Adequate natural resonance.Cons1. Very lightly constructed, the chrome basket is plastic, NOT steel, it flexes quite a bit. Tighten the speaker enclosure screws as if you were working on a carburettor so as to not warp the rim of the basket and badly tweak the voice coil clearance.2. The terminals are made of a very light gauge metal with meagre springs, they rattle.3. The injection moulded speaker cone isn't actually polypropylene. The polypropylene ‘cone' is glued atop a fairly stout and thick _paper_ cone. It is also not ANYWHERE near as metallic-looking as the example photo.4. The vented pole has a strong metal perforated vent with holes, buuutt they are too small, it whistles.5 The general fit and finish are exactly as one would expect.ObservationsThis is a sloppily made speaker and this extends into the included printed materials. The box itself shows both 1000w and 1200w rating. The printed sheet boasts “Blg Rubber” and “Bule Chrome” typos. The blue nonstructural plastic dcor on the back even when tight also rattles, removing it shows how shoddy the threads and fasteners are.So, where does this leave things? There are no superlatives. For the price, it's not great, but it also isn't a $1,000 Sundown Audio NS-10.There are better designed and assembled budget subwoofers out there for nearly the same cost.Look elsewhere.

Right out of the box this sub worked once for testing. I boxed it up and built a custom box. Installed it and it's dead after about 3 songs. No, I wasn't pushing it too hard either, I built a custom box, used air specs for the sub and it died almost immediately.

This subwoofer was advertised at 1200w but is only 600w rms which i didnt see anywhere. The sound quality is not good and i heard crackling well below 600w. I received the speaker in a smashed box and the subwoofer had torn itself through the cardboard holding it in place, meaning it was most likely dropped at least once. The fit and finish of the speaker is honestly not good, the plastic has a weird smell and it just looks crappy. I would recommend you look elsewhere
