The smoke box is well made and very durable. Perfect for any grill and its size is great for a portable gas grill so smoking salmon, burgers and ribs. Add smoke flavor to vegetables perfect.

It worked well. I used with my gas grill to add smoke flavor. It did a great job.

It will only work if sitting on a bed of coals or gas flame, does not work well as a "stand alone" A smoke tube works better .

This cast iron chip smoke box doesn't bend like the thin stainless steel boxes. No issues, easy to clean, (highly recommend applying cooking oil to the cast iron after washing the same as you would with any cast iron. Excellent purchase and worth the money.

Handy piece for when I'm cooking on the gas grill.

Bought for my brother in-law since he has a propane grill. He wanted some smoke flavor so I got him this and he loved it. He's not a big time griller so it's great for him. Cast iron is also nice.

I was originally prepared to give this five stars as it is a simple and easy to use container for wood chips. However, after using it this week, I discovered something that alarmed me. The coating on the outside of the box was peeling and flaking off. Without knowing what the coating material is, I cannot know if there are toxic gasses or fumes reaching my food. I'm going to take and use a wire brush to remove ALL of the coating before using again. Then may try and season it like any other cast iron part but out of the box, I do not give this a passing grade.

Cast iron construction is a great design and really works well. Buy two of them so that you can have one ready for smoking when the first one runs out. This way you are always prepared and ready for the next step. Each unit is a two piece unit with the base and the lid. These should last quite a long time as long as you keep them away from moisture.

Finally I get the wook smoke flavor I always wanted. For so long I was just putting the wood chips on the fire but this has totally been a game changer for me.
