I have nearly a dozen Lodge cast iron pans but this is definitely my favorite so far. Not only is it a generously sized Dutch oven that I can use in my oven, over a camp fire, or on my stove top, it has a wonderful 'lid' (Double Dutch oven) that is a super nice skillet, too, plus it has a glass lid that is wonderful for stove top use, allowing me to view whatever is cooking. It all nests so nicely with the Dutch oven lid inverted in the base and the glass lid on top of both, that it easily fits in my cabinet, taking up the footprint space of the pot and glass lid. The best part of the whole purchase is knowing that my purchase will last so well and so long that it will be an heirloom set to be passed on to my daughters or grandchildren and beyond. Lodge is my favorite cookware of all time, first introduced to be at a group camping event about 40 years ago. It is a durable, easy-care cookware that actually enhances many styles of cooking, too. I can't recommend this product highly enough. Whatever I say pales to its true value.

I purchased this solely for baking a crusty loaf of bread. It’s perfect! Every loaf has been wonderful! Haven’t used for anything else but I imagine it would be great for anything. It is heavy but I’m young and fit enough right now that I don’t mind it.

I’ve wanted a Dutch oven for a while now. I know from experience that Lodge makes so of the best. I’m so happy I finally ordered one. I absolutely love this set. I can cook with the cast iron top then place the food in there with the option of using the glass lid or using the cast iron lid. I chose to use the cast iron lid the first time as all of the seasonings dripped and percolated right back into the pot! I used the glass top to watch the food as I let it simmer. Best set ever!
