Solid construction that has lasted me 15+ years. The fact that it bolts on around the coil and holds it securely instead of relying on a hook that can slip sold me on the design. Nice tool and I've loaned it out many times.

Solid and well built. Worked great on two suv strut replacements.

These are probably a bit more cumbersome to use that other strut tool designs, but the way they're constructed you can feel 100% confident that they won't let loose. The real reason I bought them is that the rear struts on my Acura RSX type S have very narrow spacing between the rungs of the spring which I felt other tools couldn't handle. The bolts require an 1 1/16 socket which I had to buy separately, but I was easily able to compress the springs with a hand ratchet (no impact wrench required as stated in the instructions).

it works well and is very safe to use except it take longer to assemble the tool than some other spring compressors, Safety is primary concern with me.

I've only used it once so I don't have any ability to comment on reliability. But the job went smoothly and it worked great! I bought this and the struts and figured I still managed to save myself over $200 from what a shop would have charged.
