This one does the trick. No problem. A good tool.

Kinda too big and unwieldy. Doesn't work well on smaller clamps, like 3/4" or so. The jaws just don't squeeze high enough because of the large awkward holes and gaps. So the clamp can't be loosened enough, and still too tight on the hole, and the tool is useless. Simple lineman's pliers work way better. These might work OK on medium size clamps. But by the time you get large enough for this to work, the flex extension style hose clamp pliers start making more sense. So I feel like this tool is in no man's land.

I had some smaller clic clamps to remove for my promaster van coolant reservoir. These work for those (roughly 1/2" to 3/4 diameter). Not sure how effective they would be on larger clic clamps (I haven't seen any larger ones in person yet. Unsure if the clic feature remains the same size or does it scale with the size of the clamp?) Was nervous they would snap after seeing another review on here but I'm not sure how they would considering the little amount of force needed to undo the smaller clamps. There is a learning curve and they are directional depending on installing vs removal so maybe someone didn't have the finesse to use these properly? Overall they seem to be a standard lisle quality tool (better than no name import stuff, certainly not tool truck level).

After one set of CV boots the jaws are significantly knicked and dented. I used nothing but my hand strength

I like the size, adjustability of the jaws, longer length, offset head. These are a great addition to your toolbox if you're working with spring band clamps on your vehicle. Very happy with this purchase. They are of a larger size so you might consider buying a smaller band pliers to complete your toolbox. If you don't have a set of band clamp pliers get some, cause all the other pliers just don't work as well as these do. Well worth the investment.

Those flat band clamps can be a real bear to remove in tight spots. This tool does the job with a minimum of aggravation.

Awesome tool, definitely well worth the money! One thing worth mentioning when installing large clic-r clamps, I've found it easier to use it as designed to initially squeeze it to stretch the clamp a little, and then using it backwards to install it the rest of the way.

I got these to use with Eaton EZ Clip a/c hose fittings. They both connect and disconnect the clamps just fine and cost 5x less than the Eaton pliers.

Worked just fine on the various fuel lines on the fuel pump for my 06 Mercedes SL500. Easy to use, self-explanatory once you get your hands on the tool. I am happy with it, and I am a tool guy with a box I've been stocking for 45 years. I always prefer US made tools when possible, and Lisle tools often are US or North American sourced. This one was made in Taiwan, but nevertheless the metallurgy and fit and finish were still very good...Near US quality and much MUCH better than the ones from Taiwan's neighbor.

I was looking at the Knipex clic-r clamp pliers, but my tool dealer told me they were $125.00, so I went searching. When these popped up under $20, knowing Lisle makes good tools, I picked them up. They work well and easily are a good value. Now I don't have to cut off and discard perfectly good clamps because I don't have the correct tool. :)Jimmy, Making it Work
