This has been a great addition (no pun intended) to our classroom. It's helped my students check their own work in a fun hands on way and see math.

Absolutely love this. This toy will be used for years to come. I bought it for my 4 year old to practice addition facts and check her work. Already this has led to basic algebra and balancing equations. 3 9 =10 b; b=2. I imagine she will be able to use this to put many algebraic concepts into a visual form. A key concept to understanding math is making a simpler problem to solve it.

It serves our purpose, but the little balance weights are more of a hindrance then help. I need to superglue them in place.

I was really nervous buying this because the other reviews kept mentioning how small it was and I was concerned it would be like some palm of the hand size type. I couldn't afford the more expensive Math Balance and I'm sure there are better quality and bigger ones but this one is actually a pretty good size in my opinion. Not so big that I'm in a wonderment of where to store it without breaking it down everytime and not so small that it's useless. I think it's great for our homeschool set up and although my son says it's smaller than his cousin's, he still thinks it's pretty cool and is currently playing with it and figuring out how it works :) Quality wise I think it's just fine also. I feel like this math balance met my expectations and at a great price too.

Not sure how long this will hold up in the classroom, but it would make a good homeschool manipulative.

I love this math balance! It's the perfect size. I use it for RightStart Mathematics with my 6 year old and I really didn't want to get the one they sell because its too big. This one works very well and its very easy to store away. My daughter really enjoys using it, it's her favorite math manipulative. She gets so excited whenever I bring it out for a lesson.

This toy promises to be very useful in our homeschool classroom. It is a little above my son's age level, but he is interested. Perhaps Quality control is a little lacking- one of our little blue weights was melted somehow, and was only half as big as the rest. Not sure how that could have happened, but we can use it somehow.

Just okay. Does not seem to ever be truly leveled and it is not of the best quality. It does the job though.

Love the small size of this scale. It assembled easily and stores fine on our shelf ready to use when needed. I am homeschooling two 1st graders and a preschooler. This scale has been used for math. I also took the advice of another reviewer and added cups to the scale to turn it into a balance. Both the preschooler and the 1st graders have used the scale on many occasions with the cups to compare the weights of objects (like marbles), or play with pumpkin seeds when cleaning out pumpkins for science experiments etc... For us this scale is a perfect manipulative given the size and for the price! Only negative is I did tape the little balancing slides/levels/tare pieces (whatever they are called) in place as they were always sliding on their own and throwing the balance off when doing math.

Very pleased with it. Has been great fun for my 5 year old to make up her own math questions and test her idea of the answers. I like that numbers and hanging posts are on both sides. Would like the storage section at the bottom to offer some sort of protection from spill if tipped, but idk what what would be. Came with small clips to help to balance it perfect which I found unnecessary and they actually shifted making it unbalanced.
