Mission: Started in 1941, Jones-Haywood Dance School is seen as a leader in dance education, pre- professional training, discipline and integrity in the classical ballet schedule. We are committed to building new audiences through innovation and current choreography and inspiring youth at all social levels.
Results: Our students travel to New York and France for advanced training as well as have an opportunity to perform in the summer program on Martha's Vineyard.
Target demographics: Expose children of all backgrounds to the 400 year old artistic discipline of ballet
Direct beneficiaries per year: 25 at risk children and 20 homeless children in DC
Geographic areas served: Washington, DC; Maryland, Virginia
Programs: Arts education in inner city schools, exposure to the arts in New York, History of Music
