So much better than having the skimmer in the water.

This skimmer was a game changer! We have an intex ultra 16 x 32 above ground. The intakes that come with the pump have very little suction and it definitely could not pull out bugs, leaves, etc. This Hayward skimmer keeps our pool bug and debris free. Installation was super easy (although a bit scary, since you have to cut the liner). I would 100 recommend. If you need help with installation, definitely watch you tube videos.

I finally took the plunge and cut a hole in my pool liner to install this. I'm very happy with the result because it definitely works better than an in-pool skimmer basket. However, be careful tightening any plumbing to to bottom of the skimmer basket because mine cracked after tightening it BY HAND. Seriously, I didn't use any tools to tighten it, and I'm not that strong. I had to use some sealant on the cracks and that is holding up so far.

I have tried several times to install and even purchased a new gasket to try again this year- it WILL NOT STOP LEAKING!!

We got this to convert our above ground pool from a cheap pump to a sand pump and wanted a real skimmer. Searching the description to see which one we needed to fit our 1.5 hoses. It was not clear the output dimensions on this one and when we got it it appears to be 2.5 maybe? 3? There was a screw in barb and the bottom is threaded to fit 1.5 hoses but the other end is not threaded for 1.5 so we had to cut the end off the pool hose and use clamps and silicon tape. The pool hoses are corrugated so the clamp mostly works. ITs a very nice skimmer otherwise and was very easy to modify the pool wall to install it. 5 if they fix the description to be clear on output size OR add a threaded 1.5 insert for the bottom.

Fit perfect for my Blue world pool, pool. The original skimmer one was cracked all the way down the side and the local pool store wanted $200 for this exact same one. Let’s just hope that it will last. My original one lasted for 3 years

I was VERY scared to change this out. My old one had dry rotted and cracked. I tried measuring it but its not easy to measure the inside of the opening from the outside of the pool. I counted the screws and it matched my existing one. The measurements appeared to be close. I did put on waders and got inside the pool to replace it. I used an electric screwdriver and had my teenage daughter help from the outside. First I removed the inside rectangle, then put the new one up, she held the box on the outside while I screwed it all back together. It was so much more simple than I expected. I was so proud of myself. We have to fill it back up to see if there are any unexpected issues, but I think this one is going to work great.
