Mission: H. O. P. E, Inc's mission is to serve low-income single parents working to obtain a college degree by providing assistance in subsidized housing, child care assistance, social services, and life skills. H. O. P. E. Inc. breaks cycles of poverty by providing resources that economically disadvantaged, low-income single parents in the Atlanta, GA area need to successfully obtain their college degrees. We eliminate barriers to education. We provide financial assistance for housing and childcare, counseling services, life-skills training, spiritual support, and financial literacy advisement. Our goal is to make positive impacts on the life-trajectories of both single parents and their children.
Results: We spent a lot of time fundraising and obtaining partnerships with like-missioned organizations. We serve Atlanta-area single parents so they can attend college classes and graduate with a degree, pulling themselves and their children out of poverty. According to our 2019 graduate survey, 84% of our graduates increased their savings by 70% once they earned their degrees. 42% of our graduates have increased their post-degree income by 121% and improved their credit scores by an average of 75 points. 21% of our graduates own home, while 5% are in the process of purchasing one. Since 2011, we've assisted 77 single-parent families.
Target demographics: Low-income single parents between the ages of 25-40 enrolled in a 2-4 year college; however if the single parent meets our qualifications and are not within this age bracket we will consider their application.

Geographic areas served: Gwinnett, Cobb, Fulton, Dekalb, Clayton, and the metro Atlanta community as priority. Some out of state applications accepted on an emergency assistance basis as funding permits.
