Mission: Feeding Hungry People and Nourishing Our Communities. Gleaners distributes more than 43 million pounds of food annually to 528 soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, senior homes, and other nonprofit agencies that feed hungry people in southeast Michigan. Every dollar donated to Gleaners provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
Target demographics: We help feed hungry neighbors in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.
Geographic areas served: We partner with 528 soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, senior homes and other nonprofit agencies.
Programs: school-based Mobile Pantries, BackPack and SmartBite distributions, Cooking Matters courses, Fresh Food Share deliveries, and much more.
