Contrary to other reviews, this is pretty straight forward to assemble but it does take some time (at least 30-45 minutes with hand tools). Installation tips below. My only complaint with this unit is that the design of the telescoping legs means that it does move a bit when you jump on it. This doesn't feel unsafe, but it doesn't feel as rock solid as I'd hoped.Tips Start by separating out the two different types of bolts. You'll use the button (rounded head) on all of he sides. The flat head bolts are for the top Use a washer on the outside of each bolt (except for the top 4) Use a 10mm socket or wrench to tighten the bolts on one side while you use a phillips head on the other side. The nuts will not screw in by hand. Don't fully tighten any of the nuts until the very end. This will let you get everything aligned firsthead on the other.

Loving this little unit so far. It's very solid, and the adjustability means you get 3 steps in one, which is a huge space spacer. It's quite sturdy, with the top very coarse and non-slip, and easily stands up to jumping or most anything you could throw at it in the gym. Assembly was simple enough and I got it done well under half an hour, but if that's not your thing, note the directions are a little sparse - do yourself a favor and get two ratcheting wrenches; it will make the whole thing a lot faster. (Also note that everything gets locked down with washers on either side except the top screws - those are flush to the board and don't require washers on the top part. That should help if you need it.) It took me forever to find this litte unit when searching for something like this, and I'm very glad I stumbled across it. I almost spent double for a similar product from another company, and this seems equal in quality to almost anything else out there.

Box came with holes and all edges taped, so, already opened. Non-slide surface came with wear area to the metal. Need 4-hands to assemble. No specific open end socket size identified. Instruction diagram was an unreadable, too small font. Very crude comparable item, cost $90, plus tax.

I wanted a plyo box that was solid, nonslip (both legs and the top), and efficiently sized. You get all of that and affordability too. Sure, the assembly instructions are ridiculously horrible and too tiny to be of any use. Just not that there are four slightly different screws for the top and all the other screws/washers/nuts for the legs are the same. I put it together a while ago, but I think you just have to notice that a washer goes on each side - so 2 per screw. You can't even put the legs or sides on in the wrong places. Get a socket for one side, screwdriver for the other and it doesn't take long to put together.

This product was easy to assemble and sturdy. However, it was too heavy to move around for different workouts. It's 35 lbs and became burdensome to use.

The reviews I read prior to purchasing was that this plyo box was difficult to assemble. It's not! Place the top platform, blue-side down on the ground. Use a mat or towel to protect the floor. Hand tighten the legs to the platform (make sure you use the four flat screws). Hand tighten the side panels to the legs. Make sure everything is positioned as you'd like, then tighten everything down, starting with the side panels. If you have a power driver with a socket adapter, use that with a screwdriver to do the tightening. It makes things go quicker. It may have taken me longer to type this review than the actual process of assembling it up.After setup, I did a couple of sets of step-ups with 30lb dumbbells in each hand. I'm 166lbs and this plyo box had no problem supporting the 226lbs total I was putting on it. The warning label says it's rated for 250lbs (113kgs). It's sturdy! Don't hesitate to buy if assembly is your only concern based on other reviews.

I read the mixed review on assembly; I was like it is a bunch of screws how hard could it be. Wasted a hour of my life before I boxed it up to return. There must be something to the amount of washers, I guess I was to keep adding to keep adding washers until the screws are flush. Also the directions are useless, basically build a box with what is in the package.

Great, sturdy box, also the scratchy sand paper top doubles as a bonus foot exfoliater.
