It's metric, NOT standard (feet & inches)! I didn't even look. The tape measure, though, is AWESOME! It has a button to stop the retraction so you don't have to slide the normal tab to stop reaction (much mor convenient). And it looks great... we needed standard though so we're returning it.

My cuts are more accurate using metric. Very nice quality. Well worth the price.

Great tape! MM are so much easier and precise to use. "Where do I make the cut? 4298 mm"...see theres no 14 feet 2 inch and 3/16ths blah blah blah. just one easy number. could do without the pencil sharpener... wasted space.

In my opinion, you cannot find a better tape measure for the price in Fastcap. With the added plus of having metric graduations ONLY makes this tape special and so easy to read. Tapes that have both scales, I feel are too cluttered. The blade is 1" and reasonably stiff witch gives this tape a decent stand-out as well. The writing space on the side is useful, but the pencil sharpener I can do without.Overall, if you're looking for a good metric tape, you can't go wrong buying this tape.

My favorite tape so far. I'm a big Stanley fatmax user, but this is a fantastic tape, nice feel, extremely light. The clip is very nice and doesn't dig into your waist if you don't wear a tool belt. The sticker allows you to write measurements and can be reused. Extremely happy and would highly recommend.

Excellent product with millimeter, true 32, and even inch markings. Separate marks for lower and upper cabinets.

A great tape measure for the price!

Fast Cap really does a decent job with this tape measure. Things that stand out include a strong spring but easy to operate lock. The belt clip is a spring lever that you can release (most other fixed spring clips eventually wear away my work pants or nail bags where it attaches.) Also, has a blank label to write on, much like Festool tapes.<br /><br />The markings are accurate and easy to read. I needed a tape in metric sizes, and I have never been a fan of tapes with metric on one side and imperial on other-- they are too cluttered and hard to read (much like fractional tapes). Plus, having the scale on both sides makes measuring all applications easier. As a bonus, the tape has imperial 16&#34; centers marked and some common cabinet dimensions without cluttering it up, which is helpful with stud locations and 4x8 sheet goods

well it is what you would expect. Seems to be good quality. I much prefer metric for my projects so I don't have to bother with fractions. I have no problem with the math but it is an extra bother to work with fractions of inches and convert between eighths, sixteenths, etc.

These are the best deal anywhere ! You can write on it, sharpen your pencil in it and a very powerful spring action, very well made tape measure overall. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome product. It also has a brake on the bottom of it. Far better for the price than the most common ones seen at the hardware store..

Aaaaa.... I really wanted this tape to perform well. After years of getting frustrated with cm+inch measuring tapes, I decided to buy one with cm on both sides. I choose this one because of the ratings, but I should know better. The product description says it comes with a pencil sharpener, and by now I should know that any product that comes with a pencil sharpener added to it, is not worth my money. Basically after two days of use it does not retracts well, specially when you pull just the first 1m. It will retract some 40cm and then get stuck, activating the lock button by itself. I believe that after pulling almost the full length of it, the spring is just to weak to compact the whole tape tightly and then it starts to get caught. Frustrating! You end up having to push the remaining 40-50cm back in the case. Look for some other tape brand. I will, and without a pencil sharpener.<br /><br />Update: All the above is true, but I decided to open the measuring tape to check what was going on. The problem is in the design, and with some fiddling I managed to get it working perfectly!<br />First you have to get rid of the pencil sharpener, as it scratches the tape inside the case not allowing proper retraction. Open the case and pull the pencil sharpener out. Second, at the opening of the case where the tape slides in and out, there's sort of a guiding piece which is the main problem preventing the tape from gliding smoothly. You can either get rid of it, just take it out, as it is not necessary. Or you can get a nail file and get rid of two little plastic &#34;teeth&#34; that scratch the tape on the underside (-- Check my picture, file right at the tip of the pencil, so its flush and smooth --). By doing that the measuring tape works like a charm.<br />!! But beware when you open the case if you have never opened and fixed a measuring tape! If it springs loose you will have hell to deal with!<br />After &#34;fixing&#34;the poor design the product is very good and I would give it 4 stars, but I will leave the two stars as when I buy a product I expect it to come finished.

Favorite tape for shop work. Easy to read and being metric makes finding centers and doing layout a total breeze. Brilliant
