On first examination, this is a well made tape measure. A little heavier than I expected but nice heft. The markings are very clear and easy to read from each direction. This is the first Metric tape I have found that reads in mm and the markings are numbered on both edges.<br /> If I encounter any problems I will update this review.<br />After using a couple of times the auto retraction stopped working. I am not able to even push the tape back into the housing. Will try to return it for a replacement and see if this is just a one time failure or is it inherent in the tool.

Awesome tape measure! Easy to use, and feels really robust. I like having the pencil sharpener attached too.

Excellent tool for the money.<br />Easy to use, easy to read, the built in pencil sharpener is genius and the 32mm marks are very useful when building/modifying cabinets.<br />I just wish Fastcap tools were easily available in England, the few tool that are available are massively over priced - a problem Mr Akers hasn't solved yet...

Pros- Built in pencil sharpener, Press the belt clip with your thumb to open it - easy to clip to your pant pocket.<br />Cons- The spring is so strong that I have sliced my finger twice and smashed it with the tip several times. You have to lock to tape to use it or<br />else fight the spring the whole time its extended. If good metric tapes were readily available I would send these back- that's how annoying the spring is.

This is my second purchase of Fastcap's tape measures.<br /><br />I have several jigs for drilling and laying out 32mm cabinets and closet systems. However, the jigs do not always work because of size restrictions or the cabinets being finished already. This is where this tape measure comes in very handy.<br /><br />The white finish on the tape makes the small marking very easy to read. The construction is very durable and lightweight at the same time.<br /><br />Also, the tape features a built in pencil sharpener that comes in very handy.<br /><br />This tape measure has taken personal residence in my tool bag along with my standard FatMax tape measure.

Two major problems: Non-metric on the case, Non-metric in the middle of the tape. Come on Fastcap! Get it together! I want something 100% metric without having to black-marker the middle of the tape. Almost perfect. Hopefully in a revision they can change it otherwise I'm going to an Australian supplier when I do large-batch purchases.

FastCap makes some of the best tapes. I have several. For working with my Festool cabinet making tools, I really like this True32 tape for laying out hinges and shelf pins.

Like the features on this measuring tape.<br />The pencil sharpener is actually pretty handy for me.<br />the bottom on the bottom holds the tape out, so i dont need to hold it while marking the material.

While I am very excited by the fact that I, as a Canadian, have convinced my husband, an American, to buy a metric tape measure, unfortunately this one was not the best choice. The tape does not retract very well (or reliably) and we became frustrated trying to get the tape to go back into the housing just during our initial "testing" measuring basic stuff around the living room. We'll be returning it due to it not retracting properly, so the hunt for a perfect metric measuring tape continues (also doesn't self lock, which we have become spoiled by on all our american tape measures, though I have yet to find a pure metric tape measure of any size that does this).
