I pick up trash around my neighborhood in my spare time, and used to use one of those old folks' reacher-grabbers from Walgreens that worked until it blew out (and gave you blisters as well). I decided to switch it up to this type of picker, and I was pleased with the results. It doesn't work for all types of trash (glass, metal, straws, small plastic wrappers) so if you are going for 100 clean up, you'll have to pick some things up with your hands, or accept leaving some things behind. but it is easier on your hands than constant squeezing the trigger on the grabber variants. The spike is pretty sturdy, however if you get a bad 'poke' you may bend it a bit. but it still works fine being a little off angle. The main annoyance with this is a screw near the tip that catches on the trash bag and starts to tear holes in the bag (if you are using a disposable trash bag versus canvas/bucket).That being said, It it still a quality product, that I have used for a few years now. and will continue to do so.For the trash-picking enthusiasts(?) I would recommend this product as well as a grabber variant to round out your hobby(?) but each has their own pros and cons
