New home purchase with a split system -upstairs vs downstairs piping and thermostat. The upper valve was overheating and the internal switch which says the valve is open and ready to command furnace on was not working reliably. So even though thermostat called for heat upstairs, boiler would not start. This fixed issue.Push one lever to remove old. Remove 4 wires from old and connect 4 new identical wires, press lever to reinstall. This fits on top of existing valve easily so there is no plumbing or pipework required.

These work fine, controlling the heat to various zones in a hydronic floor heated house but, they don't last. Every few years, it seems, I replace one of several. Should this be so? Don't know. But they're not cheap, and along with the bill from the plumber to replace them, it's more than an annoyance. Is there an alternative. Not that I know of, and the plumber (who I trust) tells me the competition isn't any better.

I have it installed myself few years back. And still working fine.installation is easy, just re-connect the wire according to the color and pop it back to the old unit's original position.
