It’s tough to get in but I un threaded when it was getting tight, threaded back in and eventually it went all the way in and sealed. Life saver!

Purchased this due to having a minor leak from my oil drain plug. Notice that some of the threads of the drain pan were stripped. However, I installed this drain bolt and haven’t noticed a leak since. Highly Recommend

Exactly what I needed, however the o-ring is made of a hard plastic, I thought it was going to compress when the bolt was made on, but it didn’t. Now there is constant drip of oil.

A garage told me they replaced my original drain plug with the universal toggle replacement shown in one photo. It lasted for awhile until it jammed and became distorted after tightening. I opted for this one due to Dorman's reputation. It performed beautifully, cutting threads slightly larger than the original, stripped ones! I saved the old oil and poured it through the engine and out the drain hole to flush out the thread-cutting metal shavings. I have greater confidence in this replacement than the toggle type and consider the latter a temporary fix. It takes a larger crush washer than original. Use the transmission drain plug sized washer. And spray off the new plug with brake cleaner before final installation. Just take it slow and easy with the tightening-and-reversing sequence and you should have great results too!

It worked. Get the one that matches your oem bolt size. They're already oversized up from that size. I used my impact but went real slow. Finished the last 5 or so turns with a ratchet-wrench. It back out perfectly. Clean the metal shavings off completely. I ran a quart of oil through my engine to make sure there were no shavings in there. This was in the middle of an oil change anyway. Filled it back out with oil. The little bead of oil thats usually there since the oem bolt was stripped, is gone. Can't beat it for three bucks. No need to rethread or get a new oil pan. Awesome.

Used 2 for my 2014 Yamaha Roadliner. The front and middle original oil drain plugs came out with the crankcase threading. These saved me from having to pull the whole motor out to tap and heil-coil. The only thing I replaced on the new oil plugs was the crush washers. The ones that come with them are plastic. They work for a 500 road trip and then started dripping oil. I picked up a pack of dorman oversized copper crush washers and so far no leaks.

Used for a replacement oil drain bolt because my old one was stripped and found the oil pan threads were stripped also and it was able to rethread and seal the oil leak on the bike an amazing 6 dollar fix to a big problem

The thing is if you are having problem taking plug out and you are using force to get it out and you purchase this more than likely it will not work due to the hole not being the same after pulling onto it! If you are just wanting it to exchange and old one then it’s perfect! But if you are running into the problem I did it will not work! Best luck in finding a universal plug! Hope this helps!

Saved my 8th Gen civic Si aluminum oil pan. Previous owner Jb welded the original one in place after stripping thread. Just did a quarter turn in, quarter turn out all the way in, pulled it out, cleaned it up and used a copper washer and she had been leak free for a month now. Very happy.

I was doing my oil change and sadly this bolt did not fit. It would’ve probably been better for a different car. Just not mine.

Bought this on a whim because I saw half of the threads come off with the bolt on my aluminum oil pan my last oil change. I was going to just purchase a longer M14-1.5 size bolt (25mm) as some youtube videos suggested since I still had some thread remaining deep in the oil pan. Boy am i glad I went this route instead! Just got done with my oil change and this couldn't have gone any smoother. Literally just threaded this in slowly by hand (17mm socket) all the way in flush with the oil pan, then backed it all the way out so I could clean the metal shaving collected inside the bolt (picture attached of how it looked with all the shavings). Used a pick and a can of compressed air to clean the bolt completely. Checked my oil pan and had no shavings in there so now i was able to screw it back in (with an oem metal washer, dont use the washer included with the bolt) and tighten as I normally would by hand with my wrench again. What a sigh of relief! This little bolt saved me so much money and headache! Has to be the cheapest and most effective car part I have ever bought.
