This is a follow up to a review I wrote earlier. I complained that the range was poor. Since then I unraveled the antenna and It works much better.

Comes with 2 remotes and 1 relay module. You need to get the black lid off to put wires in the screw terminals and it was very difficult for me to get it off. I ended up breaking the lid off with pliers because 1) I don’t need it and 2) I got frustrated.Once I was able to actually USE it, I had no issues. I think by default it is a toggle switch (click for on, click again for off). I did not try any programming yet.It requires plug power to work - it says 12V on the side and it does work with 12V. People said it also works with 24V but I’m not sure if they purchased a different model. This DOES work with 24V but you might just be burning it up and it might die after being left on too long. I recommend to only use the voltage that is shown on the side. I bought a 12V barrel plug which came with an adapter to easily connect wires into the relay module. It works like a charm as was SUPER easy to set up once I got that pesky lid off!

For the price I paid, this is less expensive than replacement remotes for my 20 year old garage door opener (still works great).I only gave 4 stars due to poor instruction on wire/install and the cover did not allow for wires to exit the housing (trimmed with nippers to open a path for wires). After deciphering the program procedure, the mode set to "jog" mimics my wired button on the wall. This allows me to bypass the internal wireless remote button of the opener. Being wired in parallel with my wall button terminals on the opener motor, the only aging factory remote button i have left and this new remote works together perfectly.I can't speak to the longevity of this controller or battery life of the remote, but very pleased at this point.Since the package comes with two remotes, I can put one on my motorcycle too!Very inexpensive option to make my old garage door last a bit longer.

I installed this to control an electronic door strike for a customers office door. That was almost 5 years ago and the receiver/ switch has not needed to be replaced. I have had to order four more new complete kits to provide additional remotes as they do not sell them on their own. At this low price that is not a problem and I have a lifetime supply of backup receivers. This is for the single channel one button remote kit

I bought this to replace the remote control for my old garage door opener. It uses a push button wall switch that shorts the contacts on the side of the opener to start the motor and I bought this to connect to these contacts. This is one of the few wireless relays that I found that has the momentary closure option which is required to operate the garage door. The module does not come configured for momentary operation and you have to reprogram it. The instructions are well written-good diagrams and easy to understand. I am using a 300 milliamp power supply and that works for momentary use. The relay operates every time I push the button and so I am happy with that. A minor problem are the holes in the case that do not match up with the contacts that you connect the wires to. Easy to fix but should be right. Also, the build quality is marginal. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts. However, it did not cost very much and does the job.

After receiving I changed “latching” mode to “ momentary” mode. Setup was straightforward. My only comment is that it would be helpful if the contacts for NO, NC, and COM were marked on the terminal strip. I used my VOM meter to sort out the contacts but it would have been nice if they were marked.I am using this item to control my garage door and it works great.

Poor instructions make it difficult to program. If you need it "latched" (one press for on, press again for off) you may have no trouble. If you need a momentary switch, it is hard. As another reviewer discovered, if you try to follow the instructions 100 times you will eventually make a mistake and the thing will set to momentary like you wanted. Just to mess with you, they renamed "momentary" mode to "Toggle" in the mode setting part of the instructions. DC electrical polarity commonly called positive and negative, and- they have renamed "anode" and "cathode" There are video instructions on you tube.
