If you're not using this for your subwoofer, you're missing out100. Subwoofers are never naturally flat in response, which often leads to a boomy peak between 35-70Hz while completely missing the deep low-end. That’s where the Dayton DSP-408 comes init lets you precisely tune your sub for a truly flat response and unlock the deep bass you’re meant to hear. I run a Rockford Fosgate Punch 15" P3 in a small sealed enclosure, which gives me tight, controlled bass but normally rolls off around 37Hz, just as Rockford Fosgate states. My amp has a 30Hz bass boost, which helped extend it slightly, but with the DSP-408, I was able to dial it all the way down to 23Hzsomething I never thought I could do in such a compact box. Best part? My wife is happy since I don’t need a massive enclosure to get deep bass. Instead, I just fine-tuned the response with this DSP to get that ultra-low, clean, and powerful basswithout the extra bulk. If you want true control over your sub, this is a must-have.

Installed this in my car using the 12v power wire and ground. Works well, the software is straight forward and easy to use. I have not purchased the Bluetooth adapter, Only complaint is the noise it produces, a hum is audible as soon as the unit is powered on. I have tried changing power and ground locations but nothing will fix it. After a bit of research online, it seems like these units are hit or miss for the hum. I guess I was unlucky and got a bad one. The hum is not terrible, but can be annoying at low volume.

This dsp took my system to a whole new level of clarity. My head unit has some dsp function but this took it to a whole new level. App functions well with the bt dongle lil slow changing between presets but makes tuning alot easier.

This an amazing product especially at the price-point. I'm using it in a home-stereo application and it is dead silent. Having the flexibility to individually configure highpass/lowpass/bandpass filters, eq curves, and delays for each of the eight output channels may be overkill but allows almost endless experimenting. I'll be receiving a calibrated microphone and will be using that along with REW software to check/correct room response. I've set up filters and delays by ear but I'm very impressed so far. I found the software easy to use and very intuitive.

I took care to avoid ground loops in my car audio installation. I used this with a Dayton DAC and some attenuators for physical volume knobs for USB audio input with a tablet. The Bluetooth streaming also sounds good. My biggest complaint is it takes WAY too long to switch presets (via Bluetooth from Android app) and cuts audio while it does it. The good news is, with 8 channel tuning with an added main and sub volume knob, I hardly ever want to change it from my main setting. For the price point I am plenty satisfied. I will update my review if my opinion changes

Easy to install and tune using a laptop. Best “bang” for the buck.

Easy setup with PC and finally got the speakers to stop burning up because of the drivers getting the wrong frequency. But I added the Bluetooth a week later and it can stream directly from my phone and is very clear now. The delay makes it sound like a home stereo in a much larger space

I bought this DSP because of the 4 inputs and the RTA capabilities. It turns out you have to use a 3 party app for the RTA, but no big deal. The sound quality is excellent, yes there is a very slight bit of electrical noise off the alternator, but I was able to minimize it with the EQ to nearly inaudible. It's easy to use, sounds great, and the price can't be beat. My biggest regret is not having one sooner!

If your going to use it in your car be sure to use the AC plug. Yes you may have to buy an inverter.Otherwise it will squeal. Plenty of online searches led me to this and after I switched it now works fine.

Great product for the money. A real inexpensive way to add a good dsp to your sound system. However it did add humming from the engine. I fixed the problem with a couple GLIs works like a charm. Very satisfied with my build. Feel free to try this dsp.

as the title says when you have it hooked up and playing music when you connect to it using the app it will shut off audio from the wired connection and also disable the remote knob if using it, the sound quality is ok i think the noise floor is decent for its price but i want to hear the audio I'm playing while i adjust the settings...

I'm using this on a home stereo with multiple speakers and amps . To sum things up for the money I'm impressed I noticed no sound degradation that's my first criteria. Works very I am able to phase my speakers from the front to back and have many options to work with for room correction. In a nutshell I am pleasantly surprised works very well in my home audio. I can't comment on performance for a car. I hope this helps many reviews dealt with car audio so I was very apprehensive on buying this took me over a year. I'm glad I have it a very versatile piece I'm my audio.

I was cautious about this particular DSP due to many people stating they have ground loop noise issues. I won't jump to blame installation issues but can say that so far that hasn't been a problem for me. I am using this as a LOC in an E66 BMW with Logic 7 (arguably one of the more difficult vehicles to upgrade the A/V in) and while there are some moments where I wish I had spent a little more money and gone with a Helix or something like that, its impossible for me to complain about the value of this DSP. I also purchased the Bluetooth dongle and wired remote and so far they have both integrated seemlessly. I would recommend that you ground this to the same point as your amplifier, but I suggest doing that with all Audio components to prevent noise being introduced.
