Color is good but consistency was well, inconsistent. One tube was watery others were thick and almost dried.

The paints are great to use - high quality and beautiful hues, but the white paint was dried out and difficult to thin, even with water mixed in.

I bought this primary set for a class where we were painting gouache over a watercolor background. I chose these because they are Winsor amp; Newton Designers' Gouache and professional quality. This was my first time using gouache and I found that they applied and mixed easily as expected. The mixing is quite fun as gouache, unlike watercolor, used white and black to lighten and darken value.I did notice that they dried fairly quickly on the palette, which I assume is common with gouache paints and they can be reactivated but will not be full strength. I enjoyed using them and am pleased with the resulting painting.

Good color and texture. The red is a little magenta-ish, that you might want to mix a little yellow, but no big deal as you need to mix to get the colors anyways
