There are so many things wrong with this it's hard to know where to begin. The blade is too thin and too dull. It struggles to slice onions, tomatoes and other veggies. There are invisible marking for the thickness dial that can only be seen under the brightest of lighting. There are no millimeter marking on the dial. Your guess is as good as mine when trying to selelct or replicate the thickness. This is an item that should be avoided because it is a total waste of money

I don’t think I used it for more than 15 seconds before it took a slice off my finger. The food holder absolutely does not work. Even watching some of the good reviews, you could see they were having problems keeping the food on the holder. Also is difficult figuring out how to adjust for size and thickness. Sent it right back.

It is probably good for smaller vegetables but I could not use it on larger items like large onions. So I sent it back.

This is the first mandoline I've ever bought and I love it. It cuts so perfect. I've used it for slice cirtus fruits to dehydrate later. It can handle various sizes. Be careful with this and please use gloves, I accidentally nicked a finger and thumb.

Difficult to use with potatoes, does not slice them easily. But good for carrots/cucumbers. The vegetable handle/holder is very difficult to use. Easy to wash. Durable.

Slices various thicknesses. Very SHARP. I cut cucumbers down all the way, but very slow and carefully when almost to the end. I think I am careful but cut my finger twice when mistakenly lifted it up wrong to put it away. Just try to never touch the blade. I hang it on a LARGE hook hooked onto my cabinet door. These are hooks designed for hanging pots etc from an overhead system which is where I hange my fry pans. It is easily accessable and takes little space there, but you still need another spot for the various blades contained in about a 4" box. It shredded mozzarella well, after I washed it in DW appropriately. Directions do not address how to remove easily the blades to change them. They just lift out at the recessed area. Like it lots but heed my warning so not to get cut. For some things I use their holder with which to slice. All quick and simple to use and clean.

The large and small julienne blades bent only slicing sweet potato. Don’t try to slice anything that is too dense, and you might be fine.

Well, this is partly user error...I'm sure, but I've never injured myself in 46 years in the kitchen. On the first usage, I needed 10 stitches. Threw it in the trash when I got home from the ER. I'm just glad I tried it before my teenager, who was excited to try it.

It is incredibly sharp, so make sure you use cut resistant gloves or have bandages near by.I've made potato chips, French fries, waffle fries, cucumber salads, etc.. Makes slicing large quantities super quick and easy.

I bought this originally for doing super thin slices (for pickled onions and cucumber salads), but have found several other things like julienne’ing carrots. Pretty handy and doesn’t take up much space . Except when you wash it and put it on the drying rack.
