We sometimes get whole pasture raised organic spiral hams from ButcherBox and I love split pea soup for using the hambone. I cooked mine for an hour in our Ninja Foodi (pressure cooker) with a hambone. I mainly cooked it that long for the hambone. I like the ham to just fall off the bone into the soup. We use Emeril Lagasse's split pea recipe and it is PERFECT. Using that recipe in the pressure cooker made the soup just perfect. Let it sit and steam out to make it thicker, but the peas cooked great and tasted great.

These are a bit pricier than grocery store brands, but they arrived in one day. I could not get to a store in that day due to a work assignment and I had to have them that next day, so it was a good option. They are organic, which explains the price difference.
