The specification says two-stage trigger, but it's actually completely variable speed and you can control the power.

I have been stuck on an engine mount bolt. I tried 2 different air impacts and got nowhere. I tried a breaker bar and cheater bars and got nowhere. With in 5 minutes of getting the Thor, I was able to break away the bolt. Looks like at some point someone loctited it. This tool is true to the name. The 2 air impacts I have were a husky and an earthquake stubby. This is a great tool for those tough bolts. Definitely worth having in the arsenal.

I have bought several Astro tools, never disapointed. This bad boy has some power. Updated my old IR to Thor after my 69th birthday. Haven't hit a fastener yet that hasn't surrendered. It's about 3/4" shorter than my old IR to. Looking into a 3/8 ratchet next

This impact wrench has a good amount of power, but it's not the end-all be-all. Don't let the name fool you. It'll still struggle with tougher fasteners (like the infamous Honda crankshaft bolt). I've had it for just over two years now, and recently it developed persistent issues with leaking air out of the small holes located on the handle. I can get it to stop leaking with some work, but within a day or two it'll start again.

Things junk. I have bought 2 astro tools now, both junk. The first was this one and I used it twice, it did work good those 2 times but it blew the seals out in no time at all. MAYBE 10 minutes of run time on it and it just blows air now. All of my other air tools haven't had any problems with my shop air but this and the Thor Air Hammer 498k have both ceased working in minimal time, the air hammer was a beast too but it doesn't matter how good it works if it only last a handful of times.

I've owned this impact gun for two years now, primarily using it for tackling tough-to-loosen bolts. My Snap-on 1/2 impact, which I use daily, malfunctioned in reverse and required repairs. In its absence, I turned to Thor as my daily go-to. However, after using Thor for two weeks straight, I found it to be cumbersome and physically taxing. Despite its impressive power in loosening stubborn bolts, its weight took a toll on me. While it's undeniably effective, I wouldn't recommend it for daily use.

I have bought 2 of these and had issues within the first month of use of both. they seem strong and hit hard but they will not last!!! Had to send one in for repair and it only lasted another 2 months. Toggle switch for direction control jambs up, both have air leaks from handle/ trigger area. total junk !!!
