Looks well made. Comes with zipper pouch and neck cord. Am not sure it would do well in tight pockets like jeans. Is accurate, but one has to include changes due to barometric pressure caused by weather not elevation.

I bought the altimeter, thinking it worked all of the time, and did'nt know you have to set it. Would'nt buy it if the add told me this.

The altimeter functions exactly as we hoped. It is the right size and hangs from the rear view mirror on the lanyard that came with it. It was a good choice for us.

Got this for my husband and he really likes it. He likes the elevation readings but also the barometer readings around the orange ring.

Used to above 12000 ft. in Colorado. Compared to iPhone apps and is apparently very accurate. If going wilderness exploring very helpful as an addition to 7.5 minute contour maps.

We used this fishing/hiking to 12,500' in Colorado's Never Summer Wilderness Range. We checked it EVERY time we saw an elevation marker, probably more than 20 Xs. It was always within 100' either way. Just be careful not to turn the dial when handling it. Keep it in it's case. We rely on an altimeter compass to find our way with maps. Cant trust a GPS when you are really 34;out there34;. Never use them at all.
