There's nothing more frustrating than having a perfectly good board with a bunch of nails sticking out. I've got numerous nail pullers, but they all require getting hold of the head, which can be very difficult. This device doesn't pull the nail out. What it does is slip over the protruding end and push it out the back. And the best part is that you can use the nose of the device to straighten the nails before pulling. Just slip it on as far as it will go, bend a little, and slip it on further.A note on safety: This device works like a reverse nail gun. Heavy nails in thick lumber like 2 x 4's aren't pushed all the way out, but smaller nails in thinner wood can actually shoot all the way out the back and fly around the area.
