To start off with I have XL hands - so I go the XL gloves (reinforced fingertips because in the course of 1 week I injured myself 3 times cutting onions)I don't know if it's a one-size-fits-most situation but all of the fingers fit me fine except the index finger, there's a bit of slack in the fingertip of the index finger, so if you're on the border of a glove size, I'd say go one size smaller (I probably should have gone with L instead of XL) but it might not matter all that much (I just feel like index finger and thumb are the most important fit when cutting)I just prepared some ingredients and the knife went RIGHT THROUGH the onion and these gloves just saved me from needing either band-aids or stiches (learned my lesson the hard way) so I can vouch for their effectiveness (the price of the gloves was WELL WORTH not bleeding)The one comment I'll make is that, though while I went with the reinforced fingertips, the gloves themselves don't really feel that grippy on the object (in this case an onion) that you're holding, it feels sort of loose or slippy (note that there's a variety without reinforced fingertips that has grip reinforcement but having injured myself 3 times in 1 week I got the reinforced version) but that might just be the onion.I wish there was a version that had both reinforced (I'm an idiot so it might as well be kevlar) fingertips that also have grip reinforcement (though I think the gloves are ambidextrous so there isn't technically a left and right hand version) so if I'm holding onto and object I could feel more secure in my grip as well as feeling safe that WHEN the knife slips through the onion it won't go through the glove as well (dear lord these knives) and into my fingerI will also state, however, that while I feel that buying one size smaller might make the glove fit better - having the glove a bit larger (like my Ov-Glove) would make it easier to remove the glove should you actually cut yourself (so less struggle to remove the glove to apply first-aid; the gloves are SLICE-resistant but not PUNCTURE/STAB-resistant) Imagine the difference between whipping off hockey gloves vs having to pull off a leather glove (something along those lines but not exactly like that)Was preparing dinner earlier and would have cut myself if it weren't for these gloves.5/5 wouldn't cut myself again -IGN
