Great converter, works perfectly. I'm using it for subs that I'm running through a couple of Crown XLS-1000s (1,100 watts at 4 ohms in bridged mono, baby). I haven't noticed any noise (hard to hear with subs, but even so), and the controls are simple and easy to understand. Being able to adjust the line level to match my other gear while leaving the gain alone on the amps has been great. It's built like a tank (this thing would survive on the road with real pro gear, I'm confident). It is a reasonable value for something made this nicely and looks pretty decent. It certainly doesn't have the aesthetic appeal of vintage brushed aluminum gear, but it's not the ugliest thing I've seen in a stereo setup. Overall, I hope I don't have to buy another one, but I'm glad I got this one.

Ideal solution to match the RCA output of my consumer Receiver to the pro XLR input of my studio gear. Built like a tank, but fits in a tight space. Works well with -ZERO- noise.

I'm using this gadget between my yamaha receiver to a crown xli2500 to push a 12" car subwoofer. Now with the Art Cleanbox pro I get a better signal going to my amp and I can feel and see better excursion on the sub. Now it sounds like the amp is delivering more power, no doubt.

The ART cleanbox is the only choice as far as we see. There are others offering the same features, but we went with ART as it is a name you can count on for audio. 100 Satisfied.

Used this for two passive subs and a Crown Amp. Helped to solve the XLR/RCA hum issue. Recommended!

I use this to connect my sud out of my ave to a Samson amp to power two 12 inch subwoofers, the art clean does this quite well.

The clean box pro works wonderfully to allow you to step up the voltage to allow pro audio amps to run off consumer receivers. Without it, it was nearly impossible to get the amplifier loud enough, despite having the gain nearly all the way up. Once in place, the gain and voltage could be adjusted together to make everything play well together.

I like the class D amps because they are super-efficient, and they drive sub woofers extremely well. I have a class D, Crown XLS 2502 driving a set of Skar DDX15-D2 sub woofers. Even though the XLS series of Crown pro amps have RCAs in, using them only gives about 60 of the rated power. If one needs to run the Crown at full power from RCA cables as I did, I had to use an ART Cleanbox Pro. The Art Cleanbox Pro is a converter that makes home sound equipment's connections compatible with pro-equipment. The cleanbox has two internal sections. One section converts balanced (XLR) to unbalanced (RCA), the other converts unbalanced to balanced. These sections cannot cross talk, but do share the boxes pre-amp gain controls. So for this to work properly, you have to run RCA cables from the theater amp's pre-outs to the cleanbox, and XLR cables from the cleanbox to the pro amp. I am also using a Crown XLS 1002 as a mono block to drive another 500-watt sub. But in this case, the cleanbox is not needed, as 60 of 1100 watts is plenty enough power.

Ok so I have been having issues making my Crown XLS1502 amp work with a Yanaha AV home reciever. It has rca output for subwoofer and it's just too weak of a signal for the Crown amp, even when switched to high sensitivity mode. So I got this Clean Box Pro. It's takes that rca in and converts it to a balanced xlr output for the crown. Sure I have the gains cranked but I need to because the incoming signal is that weak.

If you are using a pro amp like crown or behringer there is no way your amp will output all the power it's rated for if it's connected to a commercial equipment like your preamp processor or preout from your stereo receiver especially if your using it to power your subwoofer like I am the reason the voltage from you pre pro or preout from your receiver is to low pro amps need a higher voltage that's where the cleanbox pro comes in using it between my preout and amplifier to power my subwoofer I no longer have to turn the volume up my amp is getting a higher voltage which means it has more to work with my amp runs cooler and my subwoofer is getting all the power it needs

I am using this as an interface between a Denon receiver with no XLR 's and two Meyer Sound Amie studio monitors. I'm using the Denon as a preamp and running two rcas out to this device and into the Clean Box. The Meyers , which are powered speakers, then hook up to the clean box via XLRs. Works great!

I got this for my brother, who was having trouble getting full volume out of his Crown professional amps, which he was driving with an older consumer receiver. This helped take his low voltage signal from his receiver and bring it up to the voltage the amps were expecting, and now he is getting full power out of the Crowns.A great way to get your input level high enough for professional amps! I'll be getting one for myself at some point, too!

I run live stream for church. The unbalanced input audio coming from our mixer was always very hard to control. This unit allowed my techs to quickly adjust the input gain using a simple knobInstead of bothering the audio tech or using the ATEM sliders (which are really hard to use with a mouse)Also the audio needed to go into a 3.5mm mic/line jack on the ATEM mini video switchThis box just took the guess work out of figuring the noise level issues

I bought this to connect an old AC3 decoder to my EV ZLX-15BT PA speakers. Right now I only have one but I plan to buy 2 more. The AC3 decoder has RCA outputs (6 of them, since AC3 is a protocol to carry surround sound). To get the best sound quality, I decided to try this since it is active and converts the unbalanced signal to a true balanced signal over standard XLR outputs. This gives the benefits that 1) I don't have to worry about the length of the cable from the CLEANBox and 2) since it is a dual channel converter, I can convert the front and rear signals together with one box (for each set of channels). The audio quality is great, and since I have an EV ELX200-18SP subwoofer I can attest that the CLEANBox does not affect the bass with any highpass filters and the midrange and treble come through clear and crisp. The only thing is, while the level knobs are silky and smooth, there is an imbalance in channel 1 and channel 2 volume that is quite noticeable at low levels. So if you have a hot signal and you don't need a high level output, the level knob will cause an imbalance between your stereo channels. Also, while CLEANBox is very rugged with a metal chassis and decent quality connectors, the power supply is nothing special and I think the price is a bit too high, so I'm knocking off a star.
