I can compare this unit to the OWG and the Kensington because I have tried to use both of those Thunderbolt hubs and found this one to be superior. It is compact, works as advertised, and is worth the cost. The OWG has a terrible input connector that doesn't hold the cable. The Kensington is huge and has additional features I did not need.

I use this dock to support dual 4k monitors off an M4 Macbook Pro, along with keyboard/mouse/web cam/usb audio card. This has worked flawlessly for a few months now. I previously used a Plugable dock paired with a Macbook M1 and repeatedly had issues with the computer not recognizing monitors and keyboards without opening and closing the laptop lid multiple times. With this CalDigit one everything just works. No complaints, no issues.

My MBP Max only has Thunderbolt ports. I still use standard USB external drives for backing up huge video files. This multi-port device is fast and easy to use.

Using it with Macbook Pro M3 Max docked in clamshell mode. All I can say is that this thing takes it all - my thunderbolt monitor, multiple 16tb hdds, thunderbolt 4 ssd drives, sdxc and cfexpress card readers, external m.2 drives tb4, and even more usb3.x hubs with more devices connected on them, this thing just works. And it's quite fast when transferring large files like videos from my cameras. I had another one from a different brand and it gets bogged down quick like after a minute or two the file transfer seems to slow down drastically, but this one seems to sustain it for longer and finishes heavy file transfers a lot quicker. So I have stopped using my previous hub. This does some beeping status sounds when I restart my computer, and I don't know what they mean, hopefully not something bad, LOL :)) I didn't read the manual so I don't know anything about that. I have only tried it with one monitor, so I can't say how well it will perform with multiple screens. But so far, I am quite satisfied with it.

I can't test it's actual throughput speed, because I don't have any devices fast enough to run it full out, but it shows in my Mac system report as a T4 hub, and the disks that I have on it go as fast as they are capable of. It also comes with a nice certified T4 cable to connect to the computer. No complaints at all.

I bought this hub to go with my Caldigit TS4, but it is not as fast as the TS4. The hub is suitable for most USB devices, but when using an M.2 enclosure, the hub bottlenecks and the SSD can not read and write to its full potential.

The Element Hub did exactly what I hoped it for, if not better than I thought. It handled everything I could plug into it, and it handled connections to a Mac and a PC like a champ. Whether it's fast SSD storage or normal drives, or USB DACs or webcams or an entire Samsung monitor that also uses USB-C for its own USB ports. All of those got directed nicely to my computers as I wanted them to. It's now a permanent fixture on my desk and I'm glad that everything I need plugged just goes through it and my computers only need the single Thunderbolt cable for it all.

The price is right, and it works as advertised - I use it to hook up ethernet (through an adapter), a monitor, a camera, and a keyboard to my MacBook Pro - but the PSU has a high-pitched coil whine that distracts me so much that I can't work with it. I'm not sure if it's a fluke with my particular PSU or not, but when I reached out to support I was told "A coil whine can at times be expected." Replacing it with another PSU is going to cost me another $50.
