This is very good rubbing compound. If you are looking for a rubbing compound that isn't too aggressive. There are better compounds if you have a serious blemish to tackle. However; to me 3 M stands for quality and this product is no different. I highly recommend this if you just have some swirls or other minor paint issues. This will buff them right out. As usual 3 M comes off easy and doesn't harm the finish. It isn't as inexpensive as some brands but you get what you pay for. I will buy this again because of the wonderful quality. If your tackling a tough defect in the paint I would start with something a little more abrasive. Keep up the great work 3M.

Bought it for my dad he used on his motorcycle and his car and loved the resultYou do need a drill and buffering head to get the best results multiple applications might be needed but removed most scratches

I bought a used Tacoma that had scratches from the previous owner trying to remove bird dropping and tree sap with a dish scrubber. I went to a local paint and body shop to get an estimate to repaint the hood. The Technician recommended to try some rubbing compound. He then brought out the 3M compound and 3M polish with a buffer, then used Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax by hand. Within ten minutes the scratches were gone. I could not believe it. I purchased these products and completed the rest of the truck. Spent about $100.00 and a few hours, you can't even tell the scratches were even there.

I do paint and body work for a living and wet-sanding and buffing is part of the process. I always buff using the 3M Perfect-it compound, polish and ultra-fine polish. Recently I ran out of the compound and went to purchase another bottle and they were out. They did, however, have the 3M rubbing compound (20 dollars less) so I bought that. I used it with my usual buffer and pad and it did absolutely amazing. This is all I'll ever use from here on out. Excellent result and savings!

I have used 3M products for a while now, and have always had great success. This rubbing compound is just another example of that. I had some scratches on the hood of my car, and this rubbing compound worked pretty well. Some of the scratches took some time and effort to remove, but eventually they were gone. This compound is very light in that it only takes away the scratch a little at a time, which is good. You shouldn't have to worry about overdoing it. I did do the job by hand, and maybe using a buffer would be a little different. All in all, it worked well.
