I have seen other pumps that lose lots of power when the head is over 2 feet and this is not the case with ponmasterVery quality pump using for an aquarium even thought its pondmaster version of the MAG7 essentially the same model just a longer power cable. VERY IMPRESSED with quality

I bought this as an identical replacement(same model) for my 6 year old pump. I'm keeping this new one on a shelf ready to swap out with my old one as sometimes my six year old pump won't start for awhile after I unplug it to clean the filter. It might have a short or something I'm not sure, then I'm about to give up and swap out the pumps and the original pump magically starts working again. In my book, a pump model that lasts 6 years with no maintenance or issues until just recently is amazing. So, I bought another as backup for when that old one finally won't start anymore.

This is the second pump I've used in the pond. The first one ran for five years so I purchased the same brand and size.

My Model MD7 (700 gph) (original model 02517) was installed in my pond May 24, 1996. It has been running 24/7 365 days per year until this morning (July 14 2013). Over 17 years continuous use. Today I dropped it accidentally and snapped off the outlet. Only the cover has to be replaced. Incredibly long lasting. Thanks!

I purchased this pump to replace one just like it that ran my 400 gallon Koi holding tank for a total of eight years, 24/7--thus the title for my review. After a run like that I would never use anything else. The vendor shipped it out promptly, it was exactly what I had ordered, and it's now running in place of the old one. I'm an engineer that appreciates well-designed products and it's nice to have mechanical devices operate so well that I never have to even think about them. I'd call this Danner pump "Old Reliable," a name it's earned in my book.

My pond is happy once again! Ready for years of service, this pump will power the water fall bringing water mixed with oxygen. The price is way below other venders which made it affordable to replace the previous. Surprisingly, it came via mail in two days, which is faster than I would get to the garden center to purchase one. It came with a nice pre-filter to filter out the larger debris. However, from past experience, I attached my home-made filter, using a recycled plastic bottle, which can filter smaller particles without clogging- an email request for instructions is available.
