Purchase this to cut rye out of a small garden. Also used it for some weeds, it did a good job. Except for the weeds that have a very sturdy stock and unfortunately those here have thorns which put your hand in the danger zone as you try to cut them down.

It's lightweight and sharp, cuts through most weeds and such pretty well. One of the teeth broke off when I was first using it, not sure if I was being rough with it but the durability may not be fantastic, though I guess you get what you pay for. I can't imagine it will significantly affect the usefulness of the tool for now, so just a minor deduction.

unless you can Make your own sheath and install a blade guard STAY AWAY it will inure youIf you can do those things then do so, and it's a great knifeThe serrations are furiously sharp and downward pointing for the pull cut.The knife is stellar but for two things1) There is no sheath, you gotta make your own and it has to have a sheath. CAN NOT just toss it in a tool box you will slice yourself to ribbons fishing around for tools2) No Blade guard. If you are holding the knife blade up and you let it slip when it falls through your grip it'll slice you to ribbons When you are trying to get it under a vegetable to harvest it and your hand slips in the awkward space you may skide up past the handls and slice yourself to ribbons.I installed a blade guard but you have to have the means to do this. Very few people do.So unless you can Make your own sheath and install a blade guard STAY AWAY it will inure you

This is exact same model as two others I bought at Walmart. Both of those incurred damage to the plastic handle where the blade enters the handle.I had to repair both of them by wrapping with strong jewelers thread/wire and epoxy.I am using this one reasonably, and as carefully and gently as possible.Only on heliconia and other non-woody plants.I will report back in a few months.

Sharp, lightweight and seems well made. Once I learn how to maneuver it around plants I will find it useful. Reasonable price.

Nothing too much to say - it did the trick for cutting St. Augustine turf that I wanted to move rather than remove. Sharp - be careful. The tip broke of quickly, but the blade itself is still nice and sharp.

Works great new. However the handle feels a bit light, hollow and cheap. I'm hoping it will hold up over time. As for the blade, this particular stainless steel is Chinese and must use a lot of iron because it sticks to a magnet pretty well. That doesn't mean it's not stainless steel just probably and inferior stainless steel. I would not bet on this blade staying rust free for long.I'll update my review if it does.

The gardeners that take care of the property fail to trim the bushes in the yard or dead head the flowers. I bought this guy to easily prune back the foliage. I appreciate the bright color of the handle as it makes the tool easy to spot. I also appreciate the serrated blade. It cuts easily through grasses and slightly woody branches. Perfect for my needs and very easy to use.

Not bad! Was hoping it woulda been heavier, as it being so light your arm really has to do the work.

I would give it a 5 if the handle was not plastic. I do not expect it to last a long time...but we'll see.
