I bought it because dimensions place the backboard beneath the windowsill. The side joists are solid. I don’t feel great about the slats though. At 300 pounds, I don’t think they’d last long. So I got a 2” steel box spring, it’s great now. For the price, I understand that the wood slats are the only cost effective solution. The picture shows it with the 2” box spring and 4” mattress. There’s maybe a little less than 12” left of back board. I think that works for me. If you’re getting it, note that the bolts are hidden away behind some Velcro piece. See pic.
