The device works well for locating the face opening assuming you’re using standard hardware. The 1” side opening however will be accurate only if you’re working on a 2 3/4 or 2 3/8 inch thick door. For custom doors like the ones I make the hole will not be centered. I tried using shims to center the opening but it was tedious and inaccurate; I ended up having to measure out the proper location and free hand the hole saw. In my case this device is not all that useful but for conventional doors it would be quite useful.

I was able to create the necessary hole on my metal nyc apartment door and have a deadbolt installed within 30 mins very intuitive just make sure to create the front/back holes before you do the inside the door hole because it can be difficult to remove the drill bit if you do it backwards

Did the job well. Easy to use. I'm no sure how many doors you can do with this product, as the plastic gets a little chewed up by the drill bit. But, wouldn't want to drill these holes without a jig.
