I needed an easy to operate emergency phone for my 5 year old. We live in a very rural area about an hour from our closest friends/ family and daddy works night shift. I needed an easy way for our daughter to be able to get on touch with family in an emergency. This phone allowed me to quickly program phone numbers that she can directly dial without having to stop and think about how to use it. One touch of the button and it dials without having to press any other buttons before or after. The SN5127 base unit is required to use this add on handset and it is not my favorite. So if we used our house phone for anything other than emergencies (we have horrible cell service) I would probably look for other options but for ease of use in an emergency this handset is perfect.

My mother (91) was having trouble using her portable extension phone. She could not remember which buttons to push to speed-dial her nursing service. So, I ordered this simple model, which has only four large buttons. I programmed all four buttons to connect to her nursing service. Now Mom has no trouble.

My mom is 93. She has some form of dementia that causes her to have hallucinations, is nearly deaf and nearly blind. With her old phone, she thought her imaginary people were blocking her ability to call me, but with this phone she is nearly always able to get me on the phone quickly and easily. It is just so easy to use!! She seems to be able to hear when using it and she doesn't even need to be able to see much to use it. I'm so glad we bought it.

Arrived on time, and in perfect condition. Easy to set up and use. Bought for my 99 year old mom, who is blind in one eye, almost blind in the other eye. It has a base phone, with an add on phone base. You can add on more extra add on phones bases but we didn't need them. We set up the main base phone. You need the main base for the add on to work. The add on has large buttons, so I added bright colored paper, with an initial under the first button. The second button, I used a different bright colored paper, with another initial. I put in my number and my sisters, with the corresponding initial. All she does is press the button with the correct initial of who she want to call. She's in a nursing home. This has kept her independent and can call either of us easily. And she knows when we call her who it is. All she has to do is press the button that is light up. This phone is awesome, helps her to call either one of us and also take calls from others. She uses it every day. Never an issue with the phone, voices are clear, easy to charge, easy to use, easy to hang up to end the call for a visually impaired person. So happy I found this phone so mom can continue to be so independent.

this is a great phone for my elderly parent however, it's a bit small and too light, making it difficult for my elderly father to hold up to his ear and as he talks, it slips away. I think, making it slightly larger, a tad bit heavier and more curvy so it rests in ones hand more comfortably and securely would make it perfect!

We needed a new phone for my MIL and the large white numbers and buttons are great, and the volume levels goes extremely loud which really helps as she doesn’t like to wear her hearing aids. The cordless is a little hard to use even with the instructions to use the caller ID. Great phone for the elderly.

Must have base unit for this handset to work. After charging for at least 30 minutes, you must first register the picture button handset to the base unit. Therefore, set up the picture buttons on the base unit first. IMPORTANT! THE INSTRUCTIONS FAIL TO MENTION: BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REGISTER, YOU MUST REMOVE THE HANDSET FROM THE CHARGER BASE. Then press the page/intercom button on the base unit and hold until the handset is registered. The handset charge button only flashes during registration. Green never shows. (Stupid instruction writers! DUUUUH!)

I love how simple this was to set up and also that it announces who is calling when it rings. The phone is easily customizable. I honestly didn’t have time to read the manual but was able to get it going for my parents immediately. I need to add numbers and block others, but know when I have the time to get to it that I can easily do this.

I purchased this phone for my mom because she gets so many spam phone calls. Her memory is slipping and I have heard her on the phone giving these crooks her personal information. I have placed her number on the DNC list but the calls still come through. Sometimes the callers are very rude and aggressive. I connected the phone last night and set up the call screening. It is almost 10:00 and no calls have come through yet. I am excited to see how well this phone is going to work.
