Whether in your home kit or if you are out on an extended hiking/camping trip.... Having quick access to a good SAM splint CAN prove to make a DIFFICULT incident a LITTLE less problematic, and a BIT more manageable until you can get proper medical attention. Have one in your house stash, one with your outdoor equipment! DEFINITELY!

Good stabilizer for sprains and broken bones. Doesn't fit in most trauma kits but can go in backpack or fanny pack.

that is all that needs to be said it is a SAM splint, generally go for the longer 36in ones but some times the shorter one is the ticket.

I purchase this hoping it could help me with a custom splint for mallet finger. Although it didn't work for my intended purposes, I felt like it was a great addition to the home first aid drawer for future use. I can definitely see how this rolled splint could come in very handy for a sports injury.

The SAM Rolled Splint has proven to be an invaluable addition to my emergency preparedness kit. Measuring 36 inches, it’s long enough to be used for a variety of injuries, whether it’s a sprained wrist or a fractured leg. The splint is incredibly versatileit can be easily molded to fit different body parts, providing strong support while remaining lightweight and compact. The orange and blue colors are not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional, making it easy to distinguish and locate in an emergency situation. I particularly appreciate how the splint is reusable and can be cut to size if needed, which adds to its overall utility. Despite its flexibility, it provides excellent stability once formed around the injury and secured with bandages or wraps. One minor consideration is that, like all splints, you’ll need to have something on hand to secure it, such as tape or bandages, but that’s standard with this type of product. And for a little humor: Why don’t splints play poker? Because they always fold! In summary, the SAM Rolled Splint is a must-have for any first aid kit, outdoor adventure gear, or emergency preparedness setup. It’s durable, easy to use, and provides reliable support when you need it most, making it an essential tool for managing injuries.

My poor baby sprained his leg one night and I’m so thankful I had this splint. It did its job and kept him off his leg so he was finally able to fall asleep in less pain. Cutting it to fit was easy, however the edging is sharp once you do this so I had to wrap bandage around the edging.

A couple of these belong in every trauma kit, from private citizen to professional. Training is equally essential, but they're actually pretty hard to screw up.

This item saved my Rottweiler from some pain for his last week of life :( He had bone cancer and his leg was on the verge of breaking. Besides the one bone, he was in great spirits and we needed something to help keep him comfortable until it was time to say goodbye. This splint was amazing and exactly what we needed. It formed right around his leg and then we wrapped an ace bandage around to keep it in place. We tried a few other options of dog splints and none of those came close to doing what this did for him. The support/strength is excellent and it’s padded just enough to provide comfort. I recommend this splint as a temporary fix for support on injured limbs.

If youre like me and spend alot of times hiking in the wilderness or even just like the touristy trails I recommend packing one or two of these. I broke my foot almost 5 years ago and would've killed to have had one of these in my kit at the time. Two years later I was in the Smokies and a woman broke her fibula(same as my break) I was glad to be carrying one and we got her fixed up and back down the mountain. Well made and serves many injuries.

I have a very physical job and work with my hands. I also have a history of minor sprains or crushed knuckles, so figured I should add this to the first aid kit. I ended up using it few months ago for a sprained pinkie knuckle. Just cut off a few inches of the roll, rounded the corners with scissors, wrapped the affected area and hand, moulded over the joint and wrapped lightly in Coban. This works well for keeping the finger pointed straight out. Problem is this product is little more than thin-gauge aluminum flashing sandwiched in foam padding. Attempting to fold at a joint creates a sharp area of higher pressure on the inside of the bend as well as a loss of rigidity. Also, depending on the mould, the sheet metal can peak out and become dangerously sharp. I folded over a smooth cuff on the wrist side but was unable to do so on the finger tip side. This sharpness and imperfect rigidity make SAM inappropriate for me as a functional rehab solution but fine as purely first aid.
