As far as the bag itself, its over the top, but the stitching just sucks! Who ever was running the sewing machine was new at it. Or was pushed WAY too hard, and it looks like they let the machine run away a bit. But you cant get the stuff to make a bag like this for $25, and being canvas you can restitch, and add your own pockets and things to really make this bag your own.

My husband carried this daily for almost three years before it was finally too worn out to continue using. By the time I finally threw it away the canvas had a number of holes, the color had faded significantly, and the velcro no longer closed. My husband is hard on things so it's probably a miracle it lasted as long as it did.

This is my husband's second bag of this exact model. This bag seemed of a stiffer fabric than the first, and disappointingly, it started coming unstitched on both sides after one use! Because he loved the first bag so much, he stitched it and it seems okay. The first bag he carried to work with his laptop, etc. every single day for nine years, often throwing it over his shoulder if he rode his motorcycle, so it did well holding up to the elements.

Excellent casual messenger bag. I use it as a gym bag.

Heavy canvas. Stitching seems well done. Think of a canvas sack with a large flap over the top. That is what I needed. For the price, then, it is more than satisfactory.

Works great, I use it for travel. I would like it if it held its shape a little better and had more Velcro or straps to secure top, mostly because I over stuff it

Ive owned Rothco products before and this seems to follow right along. Its a darn good quality, not the best for a great bang for the buck product. Its bigger than I expected but I dont mind at all. It seems to be holding up for the last few days of lugging my heavy books, tablet and everything else in it.

I wish it came with a shoulder pad so I could easily slide the bag to the position I want it, but other than that, it's served me very well for the past three years. The velcro was a little iffy for me, and still is, but it does what it's supposed to do, so I'm fine with it. Holds out the rain well enough. Very rugged I would think.

Just got mine. Seems very sturdy and solidly made. After reading the reviews I already knew about the dye rubbing off on everything as well as the odor the bag has out of the wrapper. So first thing I did was throw it in the washing machine by itself and ran it on two fast cycles. On the second cycle, during the rinse stage I threw in two cups of salt (learned that for cotton fabrics salt sets the dye). Afterwards no more odor and dye seems to have set and not rub off on anything.I got this as a everyday bag for totting aroun my laptop when I don't want to lug around my laptop case with EVERYTHING in it. Just for laptop, maybe power cable and few small items to run around with. Will provide updates over time, but so far happy with my purchase.
