Good for the sun and rain. Fairly comfortable and light weight. Sweat band is removable so it can be washed.

I bought this hat as a gift for a friend who owns a lawn care service. He says it is far better than a ball cap or regular soft work hat. The hat also offers good sun coverage all around and a small level of protection when mowing under trees and things from hanging limbs.

Purchased for my husband. Uses sit often. Really likes it.

I was worried it'd be too small because I'm huge and usually normal sized things dont fit me, but this hat adjusts plenty big enough with room to spare. It's made of hard plastic, but I have no complaints about the quality.

I wear straw hats, but they are flimsy and tend to fall a part after awhile. The pith helmet is more durable, yet protects from the sun just as well as a straw farmer's hat.

the helmet is light weight and does a great job of keeping the sun at bay. not as hot as a ball cap either.

It was getting hot in the hat so I drilled 4 vent holes on the and my head is cooler now. Great working around low branches in the yard.

Like a hard hat with better brim and sunshade. Harness keeps the hat away from the scalp so ventilation flows around your head keeping you cooler than the boony hats.

Identical to what I wore as official uniform when I was a USPS letter carrier. I actually think you have to experience to fully appreciate the awesomeness.

I purchased this hat for my dad and he absolutely loves the hat. His friends asks him where he purchased it from. Hands down this hat is a win. My dad is retired and goes on fishing trips this hat gves him excellent protection from the sun!

I purchased this as a gift for my father and I was extremely disappointed when I saw the material was plastic. This leads to excessive heating of your head when using the hat which is contrary to the purpose of a hat.

Comort wasn't bad. The adjustment band was either a bit tight or loose but the hat served well against the sun.

If you can get past the looks, this hat/helmet is the ideal form of head protection from the elements. I don't mind how it looks, but my wife thinks I look ridiculous wearing it. For what it's worth, this is the exact hat/helmet USPS couriers wear in the sun/rain.I've owned this helmet for a few years now and wear it primarily for fishing in my canoe and working in the yard. Due to the internal suspension system, it is noticeably less hot to wear than a regular hat that sits against your head collecting sweat. Air can pass between your head and the helmet shell and heat can dissipate through the holes. The plastic construction provides a few substantial benefits: First, it means that the helmet is fully waterproof and works as an excellent rain hat to keep your head/face/glasses dry. Second, it cannot be stained by sweat, mud, concrete, fish slime, etc., and is easily washed clean. Third, you don't need to worry about maintaining the shape of the helmet like you do with some full brim hats. Fourth, this thing actually provides some decent physical protection from things like low-hanging branches, hail, dive-bombing birds, etc.All in all, if you aren't too embarrassed to wear it, this hat/helmet is an exceptionally practical form of head protection. The only suggestion/improvement I would offer is to add some type of retention strap to keep it on your head in high winds. The elastic band on the brim is really just for looks. Although I find the shape and weight of the helmet to keep it in place most of the time, there have been very windy days that I had to take it off while out on the water so it didn't blow into the water. I'll probably add a retention strap/cord at some point.
