I haven't had a chance to try it out, but it appears to be good quality like my Army issued mess kit.

With this cooking item, you can go anywhere and cook anything and it won't get ruined as easily as aluminum will. Our soldiers since the trenches of WW1 used kits like this. They work and work well!

I bought this for my bug out bag, to use much like I did back in my Infantry days. This version is much sturdier! And that comes at the cost of weight. That said, I can think of several uses that make it worth the weight and price. Plate and skillet, obviously. But also as a dutch oven. And as a food carrier. I'm able to put 1 pound of rice and 1 pound of beans in it and still snap the lid shut. Nice to know that my emergency supply is well protected. It's not water or air tight, not made to be. So be sure to put it into a dry bag if you're going to carry food in it. But for protecting the Ziplock bags of food in my pack? Or even buried if needs be? You can't ask for much better than this.Highly recommend this product.

This is a great little cook set. Seasoned it before taking it out camping so it was more non-stick. Bacon and eggs on the trail was great.
